  • Thanks for that, do you reckon I could get away with that for my first job? Otherwise I have to go and get an ink cartridge first as all the pictures of the stands ran out my colour and black. Arrgghh!

I've just got back from my first one and did it as an open audit (signed in). I did find it handy to be able to refer to my notes as there is quite a bit to take in and remember, although the notes do overcomplicate it in my opinion. I was in and out in 25 minutes, including the signing in and out process.

Depends how confident you are! I would be happy to do them 'undercover' now that I know what I'm looking for/at! :)

  • Quite honestly I'd do it "properly" the first time and sign in! once you've done a few hundred of the jobs and know what you're doing and what to look for and can do them quickly I'd not bother to sign in.

    A few hundred ??!!
  • Quick question re: Amber Arch - I did 2 jobs for them at Bluewater; one a jewellers which is on the Sassie system, the other a foreign language learning DVD stall which wasn't on Sassie. Do I invoice for it as usual?

  • Wah! Why are there no RE released jobs for central London tomorrow, there always seems to be hundreds unless I'm going. I can see a bike one, but can't actually ride one so that rules me out rather!

I always sign in for audits. I don't know about React but I do know other companies do spot checks and ring the store to check you were actually signed in at the time you said you were signed in.

Once you know where the signing in book is, I just going in and sign and say I'm just looking at the fixture and don't need to speak to anyone. I've never had a problem doing that.
Here I go again on my own....

You had me all worried there guys.

Did my first react audits last week and nowhere on the paperwork does it say to sign in to the store.

Maybe I read it wrong, but I understood the letter of authority was to be produced in the event of being questioned by staff, if they didn't believe you were working for React.

Either way, it's done now, I didn't sign in, but wanted to reassure anyone else who'd done these for the first time without signing in.

I agree with you. The paperwork for these visits is extensive and daunting, but does not say you need to sign in.

On those that I have completed:

I approached staff on the first visit and got a very strange look, but all OK.

On another I was approached, showed the letter, and all happy.

    Hi.

Has anyone been paid for the petrol and hardware shops from last month, I am waiting for the payment and not sure if I need to chase them.
