Thanks everyone.
I'm 18 weeks now, time is going so quickly.
Sorry for your loss wssla. The rose is a lovely idea.
My garden is terrible at the moment too. Still have some snow round the back where it came off the roof (and took some of the guttering with it!) and some of the plants in pots are still looking frozen/waterlogged. Drainage holes were useless once everything froze. Hopefully DH and dad are going to do a bit of clearing at the weekend.
Starting to think about my plan again now that Christmas is over. Will have to not try and do too much, have got pelvis and back problems which could make it interesting, but getting excited about getting back into it. Mummy to an amazing little girl0 -
Well, I got my gardening answers subscription offer through the post today
it is amazing! 100 packs of t&m seeds including some which I have been lusting after for a while (frilly petunias and pinwheel petunias) a pair of leather gloves and a gardening book. I will definitely be having a proper look through later on today!
Anyway peeps I'm off to have a wee look through my box of goodies!
Have a good day

that list sounds perfect for my palette, I'm going to steal your plan hehe!
Wishing everyone the best with this year, I cannot get wait to get the allotment sorted out this week and start planting up seeds wherever I can until I can plant out....
Definitely trying celery, asparagus (take lots of space I believe) and tomatoes as well as something unusual like artichoke - they just look so beautiful when they grow but will be giving away as I hate the stuff!!

Well, part of my garden this year is being a cut flower part. I saved an absolute fortune last year having flowers I could cut inside for vases- I always buy them in the shop- especially tulips which means once they have started to bloom I will be cutting them, followed by the ranunculus I have in the garden and the anemones I planted in the autumn then into the spring flowers
and roses!
I am tempted by some freesias but the ones I have seen are 50 corms- far too many for me. Has anyone seen any around that are fewer in number in packs?
I will need to pull up my chard and corn salad soon to make room for the new stuff coming in and clean up the beds. I may go out today to do some of that in fact
I also have to sort out a strawberry bed as an animal dug up some of them a few weeks ago but with the snow and the ice I couldn't do anything to them. Once of the strawberries I have was a gift from a friend which is a large strawberry but with fuscia flowersThey look absolutely beautiful in flower. They were bred by her friend who is a strawberry nutter and he had said I could have some so hoping to get a few runners off them this year so I can get some more.
I also have to plant up my blueberries, figs and pear tree as well as the greengage tree I have coming. SO MUCH TO DO! LOL
Oh well it's all in a good cause!
Well, I'm off to browse the seed catalogues! Have a good day allFeb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790 -
Hi everyone!
I'm thinking about what to do for my 2nd year - but unexpectedly, I might have to move soon, which means unless our new place has at least a courtyard out back, my plans might be scuppered!
In the meantime, I sowed some lambs lettuce, winter salad & over wintering cos lettuce in October, and have kept them outdoors in my propogator. Sadly the cold snap killed off all the cos, but some of the mixed salad has survived, and the lambs lettuce all seems OK. Not quite sure what to do with the lambs lettuce though - the plants are now about 3 ins high and 4 ins wide and are sown individually in 4in pots. I don't want to try and transplant them into gro-bags too soon in case I kill them off. Should I leave them til March and then do it? And how big should I expect them to grow, as I have no idea!
Thanks! :-)0 -
I've just dragged this up from the 18th page so I can ask a stupid question!
Do my cucumber seeds need to be started off in a heated propagater? (I'm not planting them just yet, I just like to be vaguely organised) Mummy to an amazing little girl0 -

No... a warm light area will be fine for outdoor types, I've never grown the F1 fancy ones, just good old Marketmore, and those sown 14/3 in a warm porch did the best for me.0 -
Hey everyone. Couple of quick questions please.... Am I alright to start off seeds in yoghurt pots? and how long would I be able to keep them in the yoghurt pots for? Til they are a couple of inches?0
