Memory foam mattress toppers

  • Thanks for this insight Tim. In fact I don't think it is a matter of making the bed feel softer but allowing me to physically sink into it more. Harrisons actually sent someone up to Scotland from the Midlands to examine the bed and he spent time checking it, looking at me on it, asking questions etc, only to advise me that I really needed their gentle tension version as my hip and shoulder were not able to sink in sufficiently to get straight spine - but since the bed was verified as the medium tension that I ordered there was nothing that could be done. Complete waste of time - and expense - no wonder these beds are so expensive! Anyway I was hoping that by getting a memory foam topper this might be able to adjust my posture in the bed somehow. Am I misunderstanding memory foam though?

Memory foam does not make a mattress softer. It spreads your weight out and and prevents pressure points, but if the mattress underneath is too firm, then it will still be too firm.
