ThankS!

3cm isn't deep enough, and 7cm may be too deep if you don't like being too warm in bed. 5cm is the optimum, with a density of 60 to 70kg per m3.

Don't use a mattress topper to try and revive an old worn out mattress, as the springs underneath are very important.
  • Its not totally worn out its just too hard for my back. cant seem to find 5 cm toppers but ill have a look around.

This morning I placed an order for a matress topper via Amazon from The Linen Depot. After reading all the reviews and checking prices they seem to be very reasonable and good quality (I hope!).

I've bought mine to use in my camper as a topper as the bed is quite hard.

I bought one for my motorhome on ebay.

The prices were so much lower, I wasn't bothered about brandnames though.

Did it make alot of difference? I sleep OK in the camper with a sleeping bag laid out underneath, but figured a matress topper would be a bit more comfortable and easier to just roll up and store.
  • After waking up in the early hours with back pain for the last week im off to purchase at lunch - going to try out the argos one as its got good reviews - ill let you know if it works.

I wouldn't buy any mattress or topper from Ikea, as the quality is terrible.
