Asda Petrol Station not accepting my cashback cards?!?

The Asda store in Leyton, East London has a petrol station which is card only and is also the cheapest in the area.
For some reason (which Asda are unable to explain) the pumps won't except any of my cashback cards, only my standard cards.
I've tried to use the following cards:
Lloyds TSB CreateCard (MasterCard): 0.5% cashback card (don't have it anymore)
Lloyds TSB AXEX Rewards (AMEX): 1% cashback card
Egg Money Card (MasterCard): 1% cashback card
GE Money Card (MasterCard): 3% on fuel and food
MBNA Platinum Card (Visa): No cashback
LloydsTSB Platinum Card (MasterCard): No cashback
Except for the last 2 cards which don't give me cashback all the others just get a cancelled transaction showing on the pump even though the pumps are meant to accept all of them (the AMEX as well).
I know the cards are all fine as they work in the store and in any other petrol station I've tried them at.
All the cards are paid in full every month and are well within their credit limits.
Is anyone else having a problem with their cashback credit cards being excepted?
I think this is a scam by Asda to get people to sign up to their Asda MasterCard which gives you 2p of per litre of petrol at Asda petrol stations/ pumps.

I'll try my cashback cards at my local later this week and let you know
does sound a bit fishy tho considering none of your cashback cards worked!
2p off per litre is a rather good deal. tempted to go for that card0 -
Someone mentioned this when the GE moneyback card came out. The pumps won't accept the cards but you can use them when you go in and pay at the till.3.795 kWp Solar PV System. Capital of the Wolds0

Never had a problem with any of my cards since ASDA introduced the pay at pump facility. it's a bit of strange one.0

With regard to the GE card, this has been discussed by a number of people in two other threads:
GE Money Technical Issues
and at various points in
GE '3%' Cashback Card.
As you can see from the first of these, the problem isn't confined to Asda petrol stations but that's the main offender.
Like you, I have the problem of my cheapest local petrol station being Asda but I can't use the GE card there because there's no kiosk. I haven't had problems with any other cards at Asda though.0 -

I can assure you that using Asda's own credit card is no more straightforward !
My other half tried to use his Asda credit card at their pumps for the first time at the weekend and it was rejected - staff finally (after much discussion) informed him he would only be able to use it at the kiosk as they put the 2p/ litre discount through the till manually. No idea if that's correct as (thankfully) he hasn't needed to try again yet !
I use my Amex platinum cashback card at the pumps there regularly without any problem.0 -

I doubt it is anything to do with the fact these are cashback cards. It must be a technical issue. Also, I don't think the Lloyds TSB Amex card is 1% cashback. I know you can swap the points for rewards, but I am pretty sure these are worth less than 1% cashback.0 -
OK after having a work with the store manager (again) and explaining how I would take my custom else where I was put through to a customer service dept who took down the last 4 digits of all my non working cards.
Within 48 hrs they are all working now at the petrol station0 -
interesting development
it suggests that there is some sort of conspiracy/"policy" against cashback cards?!0 -
It looks like they don't want you to use your cashback card on the station....sounds like conspiracy to me...01. Marriott Rewards VISA (£2700 @ 17.9%)
