If people have had their GE Money CC's declined for no good reason (happened to me twice) keep complaining. I have just ended up with an apology and a £5 credit!
Are they feeling guilty or what?
If you are in this position I suggest you try the same

What did you say when you complained? Did they tell you why they turned you down?0

I said that they had declined my card twice for no good reason. I also said I live in a small town and having my card declined in my local supermarket, where people know me, was most embarrassing. THIS IS TRUE!
If you need to complain I would stick to the basic script adding your own details, and whatever points you consider salient. I think that the ambarrassment factor carried the most weight.
They claim they have technical issues (authorisation not being sent back to the retailer) and will be working all night to cure the problem.0 -
My Ge money card has been declined in a shop again. It cost them £10 this time. Anyone else having this problem?0

I've had mine rejected three times: in Tesco and Asda supermarkets, and a Shell service station. On all three occasions, it was fine the second time the assistant ran it through the machine.
This appears to be a separate issue from the refusal of Asda and Tesco pay-at-the-pump terminals to accept the card at all.
See the original thread about this card at http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=201669 for more information.0 -
Couldn't be processed in New Look on SaturdayDoing my best as a contrarian investor...property, banking...let's see how it goes0

Just remembered: mine was also rejected for a payment to Screenselect. My account was suspended until I provided an alternative form of payment.0

Yes, mine was rejected on Saturday night at a Chinese restaurant
Also, has anyone found any problems with the fact that the GE Money card does not have a start date on it?
I was paying something by telephone and talking to a GE owned/run call centre and they would not accept my GE credit card as payment due to the fact that it did not have a start date and according to their systems cards have to have one..!
Luckly I still carry my Egg Money or Capital One cards for these situations..

I'm not able to verify mine on my Paypal account.... Anyone else has this?0

Thanks for all the replies. People, may I suggest you call GE Money and COMPLAIN. So far I have had £15 from them in compensation, you may well get the same! By the way gt94 Amex doesn't do start dates either so the excuse for not accepting your card seems to be just that, an excuse.
It seems to me that GE Money are trying to get away from the storecard market and into mainstream cc business, and making a complete Horlicks of it. They do seem to be conscious of this, so going for the throat when you complain does seem to reap dividends albeit small ones.
If any of you complain and get results would you please be kind enopugh to post?0 -

I managed to add mine to a Paypal account but I remember that during the process it asks you to enter your first name and instead of entering 'Sunil' I had to enter 'S' (which is what appears on my card) before it accepted it.
