GE Money Technical Issues

  • This thread seems to have gone very quiet of late.

I was just wondering if GE Money are still paying 3% cashback on everything or if it has now been restricted to only food and petrol retailers. Or have they cut the cashback rate to only 1% as I would fully expect them to do after one year or whatever as at 3% they lose money on every single transaction involved.

Unfortunately I failed to apply in time and it now seems they have as many new cardholders as they wanted to obtain and are no longer offering the card to new applicants. Perhaps Visa gives them a better deal with ex thousand more customers on their books and this is why they were prepared to pay extra to acquire them so rapidly?

Certainly I have never so far had my Conran Visa card refused anywhere after using it extensively as my main credit card for the last 6 months (compared to Nat West credit cards which I finally gave up on using due to endless hassle over the last two years with increasing random refusals at electrical retailers due to Gestapo like Bank of Scotland security policies who do not seem to care about !!!!ing off the legitimate customer if they can save themselves a few more quid in the short term on fraud - never mind that in the long run many good customers cut up their Nat West cards). Shame its only a 1% cashback with Conran Visa but at least that is sustainable in the long run, unlike the GE Money deal.;)
