It looks like they don't want you to use your cashback card on the station....sounds like conspiracy to me...
But why? I may be wrong but I don't think retailers are charged any more for accepting a cashback Mastercard or Visa as opposed to a normal Mastercard or Visa. Yes, they are charged more for Amex but again I don't think it matters which Amex card is used.

OK after having a work with the store manager (again) and explaining how I would take my custom else where I was put through to a customer service dept who took down the last 4 digits of all my non working cards. Within 48 hrs they are all working now at the petrol station
Again, I doubt the last 4 digits of the card allow them to identify the card type as it is the first 4/6 that identify the card issuer and type. It all sounds very strange.

Using cashback card in their petrol station means getting petrol cheaper than normal. Maybe the profit margin in petrol is not enough to provide cashback...

  • My local Asda in Staffs will not accept my Debit card nor my partners Irish Bank card. It annoys me as they are much cheaper than Sainsbury's across the road. Not sure what's going on but it's strange isn't it?

Maybe the cardnet they use for accepting cards are not up to date, thats why it can't recognize all the cards...
