Good Post OP
Just this week in my parish, we have had three cars career off the road in two separate incidents.
I would say that in one incident, all the road calming, speed limiting and otehrs have failed to decrement the number of incidents!0 -
It's a nightmare isn't it?
I was once on a bus in Southend going into Town, about 4-5 years ago. I was sitting right at the front and could see the driver was texting on a mobile phone, he was constantly taking his eyes off the road to look at the phone.
I was furious and waited till I got off at my stop, before I left the bus I confronted the driver saying that it's illegal to use a hand phone whilst driving and that I was going to report him, he looked at me like I had two heads. The idiot could have crashed the bus injuring or even killing us and other road users.
I emailed the bus company that evening to complain, I received a reply the next day to say that the driver had been spoken to and would be disciplined.
There is no excuse whatsoever for using a hand held phone whilst driving. They have the internet on computers now?! - Homer Simpson

sorry to hear this , are you currently claiming against the driver/company for compensation because i think you would have a strong case
I started an action against the driver four months after the accident,My brother was in a coma for three months, and i spent most of my time at his bedside in John radcliffe hospital in Oxford.
I have also had to apply for full power of attorney through the Court of protection for him, that will give me full rights to act on his behalf.
It has been a struggle through all of this process,However it is something that i have taken on knowing full well that if the misfortune had of been reversed and it was me that had suffered such horrific injuries,i know he would have been doing the exact same thing for me as i am doing for him.
i see people now driving whilst using there mobiles and i dont want to just Tut,and shake my head.....i want to go up to them and tell them that they are putting lives at risk by doing what they are doing,we can all be blind to the concequencies until we are put in that situation.
I want to thank every single one of you for your understanding in this matter and for your shared hate of this act.Forum spellcheckers are the pitts.0 -
i admire your courage and determination norant. xxx it's a cruel world and all too often the good people end up worse off xxxx
love and hugs to your brother xxxxxx0 -
You are definately not being nosey. Using a phone while driving was made illegal for a reason, you have no need to feel bad for reporting it. Having worked with people with traumatic brain injury I have seen the impact it can have on the person and their loved ones. My thoughts are with you and I wish all the best of luck with your brothers recovery.0

I must admit that if I see the driver behind me using a mobile phone I deliberately slow down and make the phone sign in my driving mirror to get my point point across.....
Junior passed his test this week and I've read him the riot act - if the police catch him on the phone it won't be them he has to worry about it will be me .........and trust me, out of the two of us, he'd rather deal with the police.2014 Target;

I have sent an email yesterday after seeing a large supermarket chains lorry driver using his mobile whilst driving,i noted the time and place and registration of the vehicle and included all of that in my email.
I also asked them in my email if they could just advise the driver not to do it in the future, and i pray that he does not get the sack over something that may have been his first time.Forum spellcheckers are the pitts.0
