Grey, wet and miserable here today so I will not be attempting any washing today, tomorrow is supposed to be the dryest day of the week so I will get it all done then.

Hester EEEEEEW! I hate dog owners who don't clean up after their pets.

Still in my nightie - will have a shower at about 10am and leave for the hospital at 11am.

I want to make a few cakes and biccies when we get back and dinner tonight is HM crispy pancakes a la River Cottage with jacket potatoes and sweetcorn.

Well I must dash and get my bot in gear.

Hope everyone has good days x

  • Good morning peeps,

Thankfully my morning so far hasn't been anything like Hester's - yikes!! That would definitely call for crawling back under the covers and starting again!!

So far today I have meal planned for October & set my budget for the grocery challenge, WM has been on and is ready to be emptied. Next on the list is re-load WM and start the attack on the lounge.... De-cluttering day today, so will need a trip to the charity shop & recycling centre later today. Finally (if time allows), I'll make a start on the kitchen to be finished tomorrow. Phew, busy day ahead!!

Hope you all have a great day,

    MMM :)

    Monsoon rain here:(

I am off to the dentist for some fillings at 11, wish me luck, I am terrified. Not much else going on, the boys have a garden design to do for school, I have to say I think the brief is very poor, with not much help in it, in fact my friend who is a high flying company director called me last night to ask me what on earth they were expected to do! So I'm glad its not just me :o It a maths garden so anyone with any ideas feel free to give me some hints, so far I've come up with some sort of perpetual water feature for maesuring volume/timing and that's it, the boys aren't too sure what's expected either.

Tapper, have a huge {{{{hug}}}}, I hope its nothing too serious with DS2, is all the change getting on top of him a bit? Our poor ASD boys, they're never going to have it easy, are they? Hugs also to little dog, redruby, good that its a bit cheaper too.

Hugs and high fives to all, take care.

thanks Jackie - he was very happy and thought he was doing really well but they have said he's not smiling enough or maintaining eye contact with the customers or striking up a conversation.:(
He wants to try and sort it out himself. I'll give him a chance but might have to step in and have a word myself.
    Do what you love :happyhear
  • Oh that's a shame, especially when he let them know when he applied for the job, they'll need to tread carefully though because of the DDA. Have to say, I can think of plenty of the staff in our local Morrisons who don't smile or talk to you, and the rest of the supermarkets, too! It'll be really good for him if he can deal with it himself though, what a sense of achievement for him. Do you use social stories with him? I know he's older, but it might help him to put a plan in place of how he's going to act. If you don'tt know about them, just Google, it may help. :)

    Morning to you :D

Its not the dogs who are to blame, they have to 'go' somewhere, its the owners who fail to pick it up that should be blamed

Well said Ruby!:T(Hugs to little dog, bless her) Sympathise with Hester though (what a morning!)it is horrible when you step in it,some people just don't care:mad:

    ....and breathe :rotfl:

Still a bit ropey, dosing myself, but lost my get up and go :rotfl:Did a bit of crochet yesterday afternoon, and some repairs-was quite pleased with myself.DS2 asked me to mend his boxing gloves ,which had split and were fairly new.I found a curved needle in my sewing box,and strong cotton,so got cracking.Hard work pushing the needle through but did it,so he was pleased.Got to thinking about my boots, which have had a split in the back seam since last year(only ankle boots, not too bad)its got worse and worse and they were getting unwearable,so did them too :jThey've always been so comfy(had them years)

Tea will be something from the freezer, easy meals this week.
    Hope all is well.
Taplady-hope DS gets to sort it out-hugs all round.x

    Hi Guys,
What a miserable day but at least it has stopped raining for an hour or so.
Taplady - hugs to you and good luck to your DS.
Hester - Hope your day gets better as it goes along. I second the remarks that it's not the dog's fault!

I have three of my brood at home today. The two youngest boys have a virus that is going around school and DD does not go to college on Wednesday. We were going to go to get some christmas shopping but I now have a sore throat too and my youngest is feeling rough so I wont leave him. The WM is on and I have plans to do some baking with DD in attendance but I shall play it by ear.

Im missing my online and real life friend Mooloo as she is on her holidays with DGD in Portugal - hope she gets some lovely weather and has chance to relax!

    Hugs xx

I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.

Trod in a pile of dog poo that had been deposited on my drive, I didn't notice til I walked it into the house & all over the door mat, thankfully the hall is ceramic tiles so easy enough to wipe up, changed my shoes, put the door mat in the washing machine after cleaning off the bulk of the mess, when the machine had finished I opened the door & it hadn't drained so my feet had an unexpected shower & I had to mop the kitchen floor, turned on the living room light to feed the fish & the bulb blew which in turn tripped the lighting circuit, so I had to drag a chair across the kitchen to reset the circuit box. All this before 6am, life just aint fair!!
Hester EEEEEEW! I hate dog owners who don't clean up after their pets.
Do NOT get me started about people who fail to scoop the poop! I think they should have their noses rubbed in it! It's awful when you use a wheelchair; get it on your wheels, and it invariably gets on your hands and sleeves too, if you're self-propelling. I wouldn't dream of taking my canine guests out without a good supply of poo-bags. Hester I hope your day has improved somewhat.

Redruby poor Little Dog; I'll send healing vibes her way.

Taplady ooh, I can so sympathise with your DS2. Many moons ago I worked on the till in Woolworths (I was 16 at the time) and it's a job I wouldn't do again for all the tea in China. I hope he can get it all sorted out. Oh, and for what it's worth, not all customers want a conversation - I for one just want my shopping scanned lickety-split and get the Hel out of the supermarket!
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
