Got it in one!0 -
I agree with harz99. When I have kids they wont be going anywhere on a plane until they're old enough to not scream the entire journey. There are plenty places to go with young children that doesnt require a flight.0

Newsflash: Not everyone loves screaming babies.

Try sedation next time, highly effective just Google "Kiddie Meds"
It may be a baby, but at the moment it opens its mouth it becomes a brat, hence why I always resort to Bose noise cancelling earphones, a huge glass of red and a valium to guarantee a peaceful flight.

i think people who coment here have no kids... it is ridiculous that because i have a kid i shouldnt travel anywhere till she can behave.
my 3 yo is used to travelling, but when is a long flight she gets a bit distressed then she falls asleep. Also it is not a choice, i have to travel more than 14 hs on a plane to go and see my family, i guess i should only go when she can behave and is old enough ?
i have to add that i do my best to keep her happy but there are so many grumpy people that at the first sign of baby distressed give you killer looks like you are doing in on purpose.Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0 -

the kids who cry a bit or drunk roudy adults who swear and shout all the way through the flight - having experienced both, give me the kids any day
Exactly, when we came back from the Dom rep we had paid for extra leg room seats in advance and we werent allocated them, so we had a quiet civil word with the air hostess who moved my friends into the empty leg room seats, upon which 3 pi**ed passengers went beserk about how unfair it was and they wanted these seats. The old man who was at least 70 was sat in the middle of the set of 3 seats so my friend asked him if he'd mind moving left or right so she could sit next to her husband, in no uncertain terms he told her to f**k off no he wouldnt, luckily the husband didnt hear because he would have knocked his head off. So my friend went back to her 29in seat and the 3 drunks sat nicely in extra legroom seats they hadn't even paid for. Unbelievebly they werent together and the man sat in the middle of the married couple for 10hrs. So which would i sooner have rude arrogant !!!!!!!!s who should know better or small kids/babies that dont really understand why their ears are hurting etc, and as for the older kids that are a pain yet again its the adults (parents) fault who are old enough to sort it.0 -
I'm of the firm belief that if you can't behave on a plane you shouldn't be allowed on it - and that goes for both adults and children.
My brother's kids are desperate to go to Florida for their hols, but his attitude is that if they can't do a long car journey (say 8hrs) without acting up then he isn't going to inflict them on anyone else on a transatlantic flight. Sadly for him, they are both now remarkably well behaved, and I suspect life is about to get expensive :-)
I have some sympathy for those taking kids to visit family abroad, but just to have a fortnight in the sun isn't a good enough reason in my book.0 -
I've just got back from a short break and the 2.5hour flight consisted of a child screaming for approx 2 hours of the flight like he was being murdered, happily I always have my noise cancelling earphones with me but I still had to endure at least half an hour of this child's screams.
Dont know what the solution is though as you cant ask the person to leave the area, even though its temptingLive each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0
