Advice - Car Dealer Wants to Pre-reg New Car order

If they are on the AFRL they should give me a confirmtaion of registration details to sign shouldn't they? Jst dug it out for my present car.
Sounds to me that the manager is trying it on as he perhaps gave too much away on original deal0 -
Not sure I spoke to another dealer who showed em the delivery timescales a well and what colour make etc was coming in.
Will be saying no to the deal but if they are not AFRL I am a bit worried that he could still pull a fast one and I wouldn't know about it until I got the V5c through or not as the case may be.
If they licence the car would they not have to put the registered keeper details for that?0 -
So what did you do in the end, OP?0

With the logbook being retained, wouldn't it get messy if the dealer went bust? You could have an arsey administrator to unravel the paperwork with. The man without a signature.0

Tell them to get lost. They are offering you a demonstrator which they can probably get away with not paying the manufacturer for until the 3 months is up.
Normal orders need to be paid for upon delivery, sounds like they are buying time to help their cash flow.0 -
You don't have to be the registered keeper to insure a car, what do think everyone else does who buys a pre-reg.
HUH...?!
The people who buy Pre-Reg will just tell their ins company that they are buying the car on xx/xx/xx and thats it.
The Pre -Reg cars will be about 3 months old or so anyway. So i'm not sure what your point it...0 -
