Remember the defunct Gizmondo, the handheld games console that plays games, mp3's videos, and sends texts. Well it also has GPS built in and with the correct software it turns into a fully working satnav.
Comet (in store only ) is selling the Gizmondo with copilot 6 for £68. You get the giz, the software, mains charger but no car charger or car cradle.
Setting it up is very easy, just insert the sd card, go to applications and click run and thats it. You can also download speed cameras onto it.
Copilot has post code search, good voice instructions and a very clear screen.
It is possible to run tomtom and route 66 on it and was in the middle of doing it but the web site with instructions has gone.
Speke, liverpool have none left but Aintree in Liverpool had 6 left as of last thursday.
The only let down is the missing cradle as its expensive but it can he used hand held or find something that would hold it in your car. The copilot software does give the option for car or walking use

Unlikely, they seem to be selling over £70 on ebay anyway...
check complete listings.. recent sales £89.99, £81.45 (not including SMART ADS - diff console), then add postage.
Problem is no car cradle, which seems to cost £40 new from reputable storesIt's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0 -
Plus car charger as well. Only really worth going for IMO if you will also make use of it as a gaming device...I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0

Unit + cradle + charger totals out at about £110 (plus postage).
Might as well buy the navman icn330 (Halfords)It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

its not just a satnav though is it, I have just watched the da vinci code on it and the sound and pic is fine, it plays MP3's, it plays homebrew games, it doesnt have smart adds anymore, it can send and receive texts with included vodaphone sim with £5 credit (unlocked).
Fill a one gig card with movies, mp3's and games and take it on a plane or take with you on your hols.
Name another satnav that can do all that for under £70
Also if you break down anywhere you can send a text to someone telling them exactly where you are as you have the gps coordinates, and it is also trackable.0 -

Plus it's not really a SATNAV in the true sense until you've added the car cradle and charger and that brings it up to over £100. Don't get me wrong, if you use the other features (as you seem to be doing) it's still a great price, but as a standalone sat nav probably the going price at the moment...I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0

only thing is using it as a portable games console too is i can imagine going somewhere in the car with the kids using the sat nav only to have the kids wanting to use it for the games,
hence not only are we there yet but can i have a go yet......©..®..(TM) NothingVentured.

not all satnavs come with car cradle or car charger, really in its present selling state it should be called a gps receiver with street maps. But it is being sold as a satnav which some people would think it came complete with all the other bits.0
