Sorry to hear things are chaotic Pen, hope you can manage that bit of 'me' time. What about a walk? or a bath?

    Morning all,

Up bright and early here, got the kids staying with us this weekend, took them to a Battle of Britain Memorial flypast yesterday at our local county park, 100's of people turned up. We were so lucky with the weather and we took a picnic. It was incredible to watch, the normal flight path for Buck Palace is almost over my 'old' house and if we go to the woods round the back we usually get quite a good view, but yesterday they went directly over our heads as it was arranged for the anniversary of the first ever flight. A lancaster bomber went over and others I don't know the name of, then the most amazing sight, a spitfire which was so low went directly over and circled twice and signaled to the crowd by dipping it's wing. Absolutely amazing :D I don't know if you can tell, I am very much in to military aircraft :rotfl: which is just as well as OH is also heavily into the same thing being ex-forces and has spitfires all over the place (not real ones obviously :rotfl:)

Still not sure about ex-OH, he seems to be taking this in his stride which is totally out of character  It was even his idea for me to have the kids every other weekend and see them a couple of days in the week, which is what I wanted. DD2 is completely fine with everything and LOVES OH to bits, he teases her a lot and mucks about with her which she finds funny. DS is a different story and struggling quite a bit, he misses me so much and it's hard to see him so upset :( I hope that he adjusts soon.

Waiting for OH to get up, he's usually an early riser, 5.30am, so it's nice to know he's getting a lay in for once. Then later we are having slow roasted bone in rib roast beef (from Mr T's reduced from £20 to £10 :D) with roasties, sprouts, peas and home made cauli cheese    as soon as OH is up we are having bacon n eggs

Time for 2nd coffee now. Hope all is well with everyone?

    xx

Bonkers crazy light here - can hardly sleep at all.

Great stuff about picnics and flybys - we need ot make a special dinner later :)

    Hi Pips,

I am also ridiculously sunburnt from having a BBQ Friday before last, still bright red and itching :(

Enjoy your visitors, 2 weeks sounds like hell to me tbh :rotfl:

Um, not my idea of what I'd call fun - only 2 weeks with OH and um, sharing

    I'm not great at sharing

However, he's got a new car and he's bringing it along :)

I'll go out in that if I get fed up :)

Sunburn!!:rotfl:It's tipping down with rain here and has been ALL day. It's only 9 degrees and I'm wearing a jumper and got the heating on! (Shh don't tell anyone on old style board, please).

Great to hear you sounding so upbeat jo and doing nice family stuff. Hang on in there with DS, he'll adjust. Good that ex is co-operative, probably means no poison being dripped in ears. I did laugh when you said OH was having a lie-in before 8.00 a.m. Ex didn't seem to emerge from pit until afternoon, what a difference!

Good luck with the visitors, pip.

I've been out to lunch and had roast beef but it seemed like a measly portion compared with carvery so I'm hungry again. I think it must be the cold weather. Got spag bol out of the freezer so will have that soon.

Have a good week. I'm off to Turkey on Tuesday so maybe will get some sunburn after all!:D
