Still cooking! Apple sauce has come out good tho' . Even gone all posh and made veg stock from the peelings and a bit of this and a bit of that. Half hour to go.

BTW quartered the apple sauce recipie and still made a desert bowl full.

Marru, huge good luck vibes and finger crossiness for house hunting and also that you get a decent lunch ;) Did you manage to decide which school you were going for for DD?

Thanks Jo, unfortunately it wasn't very nice house, I can't see how they can find a tenant until they do some serious maintenance to it.

Having a bit of a funny day here, woke up realising how unorganised I'm getting and how forgetful I am getting. Need to pull finger out. And so today I will mostly be list writing.

THIS is best task list that I have come across.

After house hunting BF took us for a lunch to Mr S. Shephards pie for me, spag bol for DD and all day brekkie for BF. Then we went to his mum's place and she gave us some breadrolls, salady stuff and cold meats and pickles and chutneys for tea and a big piece of cake for pudding. Yum. I am still stuffed.

Just read through all the posts.

Always like hearing what others eat,my catering leaves a lot to be desired! although cook more in the Winter.

Went for my flu jab this morning and called into the butcher that sells free range local pork, got a huge piece of shoulder of pork for tomorrow, label actually said shoulder of pork Jamie Oliver style. So 6hr pork coming up.

Went out for a Thai lunch, followed by a massive knickerbocker glory type thing.

Tonight we have had home cooked gammon with home made chips and egg and sodabread, then rasberries, meringue and cream.

Must pop into other thread, but never know what to say really.

Morning all, I'm up but not functioning - can't think past a cup of tea yet. Its pouring with rain so the cats are in and doing the winter olympics in the living room, on the laminate flooring.

I assuming everyone is having pork shoulder today?

Have a good Sunday, Pen :)
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x

    365.....c'mon, how was it???

Heath, yay, thanks for popping in :j Loving your new FB profile pick :D

    YM, good moaning sir

Heath/YM, I understand what you both mean, I think it must've been my constant babbling on about random stuff and now I'm not the thread is actually on topic.....shows you how much verbal diahorrea I post :rotfl: Heath, I think although you don't post very much, you are of great inspiration to the thread so please keep popping on there :A and YM, well just post a picture of hairy feet or summat (not on here though this is an eating establishment :naughty::D)

Marru, mmmm might take the kids to Mr S for lunch myself today, I don't go there so often because it's a bit out of the way (and pork in on half price in Mr Ts :p). I want to pop in there today and buy some pillows so might treat them for lunch :D Hope you find somewhere to live soon. Are you and BF moving in together?

Pen, don't know what part of the country you're in but it's lovely and sunny down here in London, though was p1ssing down all night and all I could think of was 'if and when' the loft conversion work starts and the house is covered in scaffolding and plastic stuff, the noise the rain is gonna make smacking down on to that  'if and when' it happens, it's bound to be in the depths of winter *rolleyes*

Morning to any lurkers, please feel free to pop in for some toasted teacakes with butter and jam :D

Well, OH stayed out last night at his friends playing poker so had a lovely lay in, which was needed after being woken up at 4am in the morning by the loudest bang. Me and DD1 were walking around the house but couldn't see anything so thought it must've been outside. When we got up this morning, I noticed the freezer door was a jar and a can of coke that DD1 put in there yesterday had exploded.....everywhere  freezer is full of stuff that is covered with sticky ice _pale_

Right, off to sort my washing pile out, get the pork out of the fridge to rest for a bit.....oh and thinking I might try summat a bit different....how does this sound on the pork?
    • 1 Tbsp dried crushed red peppers
    • 1 tsp garlic powder
    • 1 tsp ground ginger
    • 2 Tbsp salt
    • 1 tsp ground white pepper
    • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
    • 2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
This is made into a paste and rubbed into the pork and cooked the same way (have no brown sugar, only got white?)

No I haven't DC, sounds fab!!

I reckon at this rate, the UK and selected other countries ;) will declare Sundays as SRP day and the price of pork will rocket :rotfl:

YM, just seen your post on the other thread, stop going awol cos I worry about you!! Make sure you post here, I might even let you post up your dodgy pics even though I only said you couldn't half hour ago!

I think we had better come up with another Sunday roast idea for next week, OH is really not going to be very impressed when he comes home and smells the pork cooking :rotfl: even the 3 office ladies at work are cooking SRP this weekend! In fact, there were only 3 joints of pork left in Mr Ts yesterday and it was only 5pm

I want a good slow roast beef recipe....

Ooh, I've just seen the slow pork roast, and I'm so jealous. Just a jacket spud for me, as just me at home today. :j

Thanks for posting. I will be making it someday. :T
