I bought one of these Xerox Monitors in june this year from Micro Direct 6 months ago and i have to say that is was the worst thing i ever did

i am now waiting for my 3rd Monitor to arrive...the 1st broke within 2 months and i have been without a monitor all this time.

Each time there is a 30 working day waiting time which seems Microdirect / Goodies (Xerox repair subcontractor) make no effort to try and speed up the process.

There is a inherent problem with many of these monitors which they will turn themselves on and off every 30 seconds or so. which i noticed when scouring the web for advice.

Xerox wont help. they sub-contract the repairs and the number you have to ring is 0870 where you will be on hold for 30 mins before somebody answers.

Even after this amount of time they refuse to refund my money.

however the monitor was perfect for the first 2 months and great quality image..but no customer support

I should have my new monitor the week before christmas

That does seem a very good offer for brand name 19" DVI monitor. Anyone know if they are any good and know of any reason why there would be such a drastic reduction?

You have to be quick if you want these bargains from EmpireDirect though as they only have 1 in stock you have to be quite lucky ...so if you want it get in quick ...not sure how good it is so try and find some reviews before buying ...but for £99 for a Philips 19" you cant really complain

Took the plunge! Been looking for a TFT for a while. Nothing fancy, just general PC use. Was ready to settle for 17" Acer from Amazon but for the same money thought I might as well try this. Still £250+ on other sites so cant be bad!

    Thanks for pointing it out!

Can I ask what time you bought it ? Only I bought it around 2pm and would have imagined that as ther was only one in stock....

As soon as I saw it comes with a perfect panel warranty I went ahead and ordered one. This was at about 1415 and it is now tracking at Quidco (price minus VAT). The status at Empire is still saying one available, so either they have several of these to off load or their stock taking is not real time. I suspect their stock taking is not real time though as the system will only sell one monitor/ purchase which infers only one is available.

    Cheers

    Hi zaccy,

I rang them and they say the screen was sold this morning so we were both unlucky !

My Quidco is tracking as well but looks like 3 of us will be unlucky. Oh well you win some you loose some.

I take it empire will email us cancelling our orders tomorrow? Never ordered from empire before seems weird they don't have a "My Account" section where u can review your orders?
