Selling tools such as 'you could reclaim £2,000' is the same as Adidas trying to say you can play like David Beckham if you buy their football boots.....you may, you may not.
In terms of Claims Advisory Group, my research has shown that they actually charge less then most PPI companies as vat is inclusive in their fees were others are not - Claims Advisory Group 39%inc. other are 25% plus vat (45%).
Is that an Adidas calculator you're using there? You know, the one that claims you can figure out percentages like David Beckham?0 -
Whether a claims company provides a service or not is irrelevant. The sorry fact is that some of them cold call to gain their business, and give misleading information in their effort to secure that business.
They very much rely on people being uninformed and naive, in my humble view that's every bit as slimy as a bank telling it's customer that they won't get a loan unless they take PPI out etc.
I'm not saying that PPI and claims companies don't have their use, but it's the way that they are sold to people which is very distasteful.
When CAG cold called me, they told me that it is illegal to charge interest on a single premium PPI policy, whether that is true or not, I do not know, but it sounded very iffy to me so I researched CAG, and didn't like what I saw. Thankfully I got out before I signed anything.
Injury compensation claim companies are just as bad as well. I got this phonecall once telling me that I had been involved in a road accident a couple of years ago and that I could claim compensation of thousands. Now, this was very surprising since to my mind I've never been in a road accident in my life!
It's this technique of going out and selling something to someone who otherwise would not have bought/wanted something. I hate it, it's very seedy.:www: Progress Report :www:
Offer accepted: £107'000
Deposit: £23'000
Mortgage approved for: £84'000
Exchanged: 2/3/16

Lets be totally honestIn terms of Claims Advisory Group, my research has shown that they actually charge less then most PPI companies as vat is inclusive in their fees were others are not - Claims Advisory Group 39%inc. other are 25% plus vat (45%).
So 25% of the redress plus a further 5% in VAT comes to 30% NOT 45%.if you were .... so clever
So I have three theories about you, PPI2011:- You are an imbecile;
- You actually work for Claims Advisory Group and are making a deliberate but inaccurate claim in order to generate business (i.e. spamming);
- Both
Who else reckons 3 is most likely?

Absolutely !! number 3 gets my vote.0

Lets see.... A first time poster, supporting a certain claims company and misrepresenting the facts.
Sounds like 3 to me.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!!
they are constantly calling asking for a mr. pruit and they know for a fact that that person does not live at the phone number they are calling. they then try to completely scam you.
DO NOT TRUST THEM AND JUST TELL THEM TO F***K OFF!!!0 -
They are so thick they called me about PPI and we've NEVER taken out any whatsoever on any borrowings. I asked them to remove me from their database and they told me that they got my details from Transactis...needless to say the CEO of that little lot got a flea in his ear too, copied to Trading Standards and now it's going to my MP.0

Magpiecottage - It must be three.
Thinking the statement above would go unquestioned on this forum is utterly moronic.
Think about it PPI2011, you could go into work tomorrow morning, quit your job with the CAG, then drive to the MOJ central office and report everything you know. Why not do it?
Wouldn't that be more exciting than lying to people?
Is working for CAG really what you wanted to do with your life? Think about it.0 -

Also that company has a cheek using that title. CAG (the consumer action group) is a well known, respected internet forum that has helped thousands claim back bank charges and PPI payments and many of us on here use them frequently. They are everything these claims companies hate, people empowering themselves to fight back against the big boys who have ripped them off, WITHOUT being conned by middle men who just want another cut of your money. For this claims company to deliberately use a simular name is more than a con.
Even the OFT strongly advise against the use of claims companies.
The information is on here or other forums who can help anyone make a claim themselves, even if they need step by step instructions-power to the people!

In fact this company have been calling people and using the CAG name to try to sell to people-its disgusting and they ought to be ashamed-exactly the same sort of con as those using any kind of simular name to MSE money expert etc. Especially as CAG is a registered trademark."Overthinking every little thing
