My first reaction was unbelievable! But on reflection this is all too believable. Instead of getting a grip on the problem when people first contacted it NatWest has kicked this around with no NatWest person taking control and ensuring that the problems are fixed. I certainly not inclined to put any more business NatWest's way after this.

The September/October 2010 version of e-Savings doesn't get a mention at all here.

  • Poppycock, the screenshots I have are 2.82% net at 12.11am and 2.28% net at 12.43am.

I suspect that you mean 12:11pm and 12:43pm?

According to yesterday's Daily Mail, 'NatWest will this week unveil the progress it has made in it's quest to become Britain's 'most helpful bank' '.

It 'will publish independant analysis by accountant Deloite ruling how many of it's 14 commitments it has met since the launch of it's customer charter last June'.

Will be interesting to see what is said about their handling of complaints, & whether the advertising shambles/lies of this e-savings account gets a mention?

    I won't hold my breath!.....

It has to be today, as we're in the last day of February - NatWest's adverts and the cash machines say "From February" (is that in 6 months time from Feburary??) where as I've been told by a manager at the CRU that the report is out at the "end of February". So where is it? Tomorrow won't be the end of February, it'll be the start of March, and if so it's yet another broken promise - but did I expect any different?

A friend has been in to their local branch and been told that the report will be published on March 2nd. Customer Relations have apparently also said that it'll be 2nd of March in the National Press.

So why did their adverts say February? Why did the cash machines say February? Why did a Customer Relations Manager tell me 'end of Feburary' when it clearly isn't the case?

Far be it from me to defend NatWest but rather than getting bent out of shape, if you're not happy with NatWest you always have the option of banking with someone else. Good luck!

Thanks for the Good Luck, much appreciated as I've not had much of it from NW!

A few steps ahead of your suggestion though, as I have already started the process, but want have the Final Responses for each of my complaints from NatWest before cut all ties with the bank.

NatWest are denying that they ever said February, saying they always said March 2nd (first time I've heard that date today, at the end of Feb...)

This is the leaflet I had from them on November 17th 2010 which confirms February. It was around the same time as they had adverts saying February.

Make up your own mind about how trustworthy NatWest are, I certainly have.

    It's now online:
    http://www.natwest.com/global/customer-charter/g1/results.ashx

Commitment 4: We will help you make the right choices for you and your money, providing a clear product range with simply explained features and charges.
Goal 1: All of our branch literature will be simplified and re-written in line with your feedback.

Wasn't achieved. I'm glad they're using the Plain English Campaign for the re-writes. Don't know why they specify only branch literature and not all literature.
