T Mobile phone unable to be repaired
Hi I wonder if I can get some advice please??? I have 3 t-mobile contracts (mine and 2 dds)
Mine is a Samsung Pixon, (still under warranty) I put it in for repair because the screen had completely frozen, this is the second time this has happened, first time it was repaired, however this time according to online repair tracker, it says unable to repair.
I am due to collect it tomorrow, I just wonder if anyone can give me advice on how to handle it before I go in?? Am I supposed to do without a phone til my contract is up in April? Will they offer me a replacement or would I need to ask for one?? Do I threaten to leave when contracts are due up? (my daugters both still have 18mths left, I'm on friends and family and pay £22.50 per month....will they care if I leave?)
Any advice gratefully received, thanks in advance, Fiona.

All depends why it's unrepairable.
Water damage will be down to you and not covered by the warranty. Not economical may mean they give you a new phone, really it's impossible to say till they tell you why.0 -
Thanks for that...I can state quite happily that there was no damage inflicted on it in anyway by myself...no water etc...with a clear conscience

As long as they don't deem it to be your fault they should offer you a refurb of the same model phone, if available. If not available, they will offer you a phone that - in their eyes - is comparable. If I've helped you please show your appreciation by using the "Thanks" button

Oh dear...have just realised there was a repair report pdf file attatched....it says water ingress visible on external inspection.
The day my phone stopped working I was in the city shopping for wedding outfits with my daughters, a scorcher of a day....no rain, nothing! My phone worked on the train up, I later tried to phone my hub, nothing, complete screen freeze....so I don't know where this liquid is supposed to have come from??? Oh I can see I'm going to have a problem here....my word against theirs?? Don't fancy my chances much(

There will be a moisture detector on the inside of the phone (sometimes on the battery), or there may be marks on the circuit board, most repair centres will provide a photograph if requested - it's worth remembering that the repair centres don't get paid under warranty for rejecting jobs, so if there is a way of repairing a phone under warranty they will find it. That said, you've every right to get the phone back, and take it to a repair centre of your choice for a second opinion0

Not just your word against theirs.
T-Mobile use an external company called SBE to carry out their repairs if you dispute their descision you could also contact the manufacturer of the phone and use their repair service I think carphone warehouse will also do a free repair as long as you show them proof of purchase.0 -

I work in the mobile phone business.
The only bit of advice I can give is that, although you may not think you inflicted any damage on the handset, things like water damage can happen accidentally. IE, even just being in a condensated room or out in the rain can sometimes water damage a handset.0 -
Thanks everyone....so say I got the water in it from taking it into the bathroom with me when I go for my shower....it's my fault, is there nothing I can do now? No new phone until my new contract in April? Ooooft....I'm feeling a bit gutted here

There are internal and external stickers. It may be worth asking what has beEn tripped.
If it's internal your out of luck but if the external ones are tripped but the internal not you may get some resolution.0
