Is it possible to hold this account without having youre salary mandated to Barclays? I see from the terms and conditions it may not be, however how strict are they on this issue? How about paying £1000 in per month without mandating my salary through Barclays

"" 5. Can my salary mandate count towards my £1,000 monthly credit?
Yes. In fact, you must have your salary or pension paid directly into your Barclays current account to qualify. ""

    10% B&B
    10% A&L
    10% Barclays
    8% Lloyds
    7% Halifax
    7% Leeds
    7% Stroud & Sw.
    6% Principality
    6% Principality
    6% Leek

Its probably been asked before, but how many times can you do any of the accounts above? Is it just once ever, or can you open a new one up when your existing one completes it 1 or 2 year term?

We have a joint bank account at Barclays, with just my husband's salary going in. However, they allowed me to open a Regular Saver in just my name, as husband's salary qualified me.

My Principality expired last month and they let me open another one straight away. I think it's a case of if the offer is still open to everyone, then anyone (which includes you) can have another ride.

Yes I was allowed to follow on once one expired, but before it expired in May, I opened a 2nd one with them in March. You are allowed to have at least two running concurrently, if you've got enough money, that is!

'GO TO A BRANCH' (the phoneline has a backlog)

So, i avoided getting hit by a bus... and took the advice and went to LloydsTSB branch to open the regular saver. :j The lady was very nice, but couldn't use the computer properly and kept making notes for things to do later... Is this normal?

I've got a feeling she has not done it properly, don't think they had opened any of these yet! So fingers crossed! Will have to keep an eye on it. Can i check it online?

She also had to call someone else in to query if a £500 initial payment and a £250 SO can all go in in June. The second lady got overly excited about this and got some official paperwork to check! Her paperwork showed that a maximum of £3500 can go in per year. Returning a max interest of approx £160. :T

I was an existing Lloyds customer. So nothing more to do than open up the Regular Saver. It was visible online immediately. So if they've done the paperwork properly and got the computer working, you shoudl be able to see it today. Mine was all done online in front of me, except the SO which she did manually, coz the system didn't allow for this. I did mine at the very beginning when perhaps all there systems were not "go", but by now they should be okay.

I opened a HSBC regular saver today @ 8% and was told that they rarely set these up for customers  Something wrong with it I am missing?

As my current account is with them and currently have benefits to keep it that way, and have filled my ISA allowance, I opened this to drip feed from a savings account elsewhere; even though it's not the highest rate available, I calculate that net of tax, I will have a rate of 5.3%.
