You don't have to feel grateful but you might show a little understanding. A lost parcel can happen - not often but when it does most sellers do their damndest to put things as right as they can - in this case issuing a refund straight away. What else could she do?
As an ebay seller I post feedback as soon as I receive payment because I consider the buyer has fulfilled their part of the bargain. It is surprising how many buyers are not as courteous. You yourself have said that you you can't often be bothered to leave feedback!
I can also understand the seller's message about feedback. It is an unpleasant experience to receive negative or even neutral fb for an error outside your control. It is also very unfair. In all my eight years selling on ebay I have received one negative feedback which was wholly unjustified and it is both hurtful and damaging to one's reputation.
The seller has fulfilled every aspect of the selling process required by ebay - why should you feel hard done to?

Sellers should occasionally see things from the buyers' side. In general buyers have more rights than responsibilities and I get annoyed with people who think that buyers exist to service sellers' needs rather than the other way around. As a sometime seller myself I more than bend over backwards to sort things out properly and apologise is the first thing I do to someone whose item hasn't turned up.

@littleowl - it may be outside your control but it's still your responsibility, and it's also your responsibility to be pleasant to your customers so they have no need to leave you a neg or neutral.

  • lol guess what me too! and a TRS if we're going for bragging here. Just hope you don't send messages like that out to your buyers. If my items go missing i refund after 12-14days and apologise a number of times. It's called sucking up if you don't want a neg. I've not had one apology from this seller. Perhaps your my seller then!

Oh dear, TRS and PS here, but who's bragging ? Your seller refunded in full once you hadn't received the item.

Trust me, you are not my buyer, and if you let me know your id, you never will be.
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever :D
  • It's quite simple really
    I buy-they post-item doesn't turn up after 14days they should refund-instead they ask me to wait 4more days. I do this-not a problem. I email again-they refund.
    End of story.
Week later i get that message. I don't think thats normal behaviour for a seller-check their fb and guess what a series of negs-neutrals for INR. I think i'm doing them a favour by not leaving fb but they are asking me to leave a pos.
Can nobody see why i'm a little put out by their message.

I don't get your point though. Why should i be nagged to leave fb for an item i didn't recieve. I'll leave them glowing fb for making me beg for my money back then twice, with no apology and a message to tell me not to leave neg or neut. Ok guess you must be right. :D

You were not being nagged to leave fb - the seller was merely asking you to show some understanding of the situation and not to leave unjustified negative or neutral feedback!

Yes i understand that but why when the situation is resolved-they refunded a week ago why not put the note in with the refund. I'm not unresonable i didn't like the way they worded it thats all and the timing just makes it seem odd.
  • They didn't nag you to leave feedback... they nagged you not to leave negative or neutral feedback... ;)

There's no reason to get narked. If you don't want to leave feedback then don't..move on and shut up about it.
