Oh Handy, that sounds awful, Mrs. H really does seem to be letting her heart rule. Do you think that once she's had time to grieve she'll see things clearer? Maybe you should suggest that since it's such a big decision you should both think about it and then discuss it again in, say, six months?

Thanks, mum's a lot better. She had a really rough time last week, a combination of the radiotherapy, two hours travelling each day (for ten mins of treatment), and starting on morphine. It all seems to be settling down now though, she was a lot better yesterday.

Hello everyone, a quick afternoon bump.

Handy - commiserations on the family stuff. Suggest you stop lending money to kids, they are all grown up and should be able to sort things out for themselves. And if Mrs Handy wants to relocate oop north, then why don't you suggest she does some research? As in looking for jobs and places to live? You haven't got time to do it, and there's no such thing as the jobs fairy or the house fairy, so tell her you will consider it if she can gather together enough info for you both to sit down and consider things. In my experience. people who are badgering others to do something become less keen when they themselves have to take on the work!
