  • Thanks ladies... yep he was a big boy and in a hurry too... 20mins from waters breaking and he was in my arms...

Anyone got any tips on how to keep on top of things? My main weaknesses are keeping on top of the washing and paperwork!!

    Thanks for the advice Valli.
After speaking with MIL and FIL, we have all decided that they are Woolly Bears. Sadly not as cute as they sound!
Anyway, I think I am on top of it, but I won't hold my breath. I have managed to deep clean our bedroom and change the bed etc.
Am behind with flying though. Going to Costco tomorrow, and haven't done a list yet or priced anything up!

Dusty and Pigpen - am still waiting for my parcel - apparently the neighbours are away until Tuesday! Idiots! I shall have a stern face when I finally see them.
Just had a takeaway - too knackered and traumatised to cook! Off to declutter a coffee.....
Lyns - congrats on the baby!

Congratulations, just a day early. Tips, enjoy the baby, enjoy him some more and don't worry about the flying. In fact just for you:

I hope my children look back on today,
And see a Mother who had time to play.
Children grow up while you're not looking,
There'll be years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So quiet now cobwebs; dust go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby, and babies don't keep.

I need another baby to put housework on hold for a few more years :rotfl:

Bother DH still not home which means he has been for a quick Friday drink, which I don't mind but DS1 is out tonight so I'll have to stay up late to pick him up and I still don't feel great.

I hear the garage door, a wet DH must be home.

    Evening all,

Congratulations to Lyns on the birth of your baby boy. Make the most of the time you have with him whilst he's still small, and don't worry about the housework for a while. If people come over to see you, they should respect that you've got a newborn, and not expect the house to be immaculate!

I've just had a fantastic day at the private school. I wasn't going to be doing any teaching, but did quite a bit. The girls in my form all wrote welcome notes to be on the whiteboard, I seem to have lots of free periods, I'm going on a trip on Monday afternoon to bake bread and make pizzas, and the head, deputy and my year-group partner teacher and I all went to the pub for a drink after work too. Shame I'm only there for a couple of weeks, but at least it is a foot in the door, and hopefully they'll ask me back again in the future.

As Moon had the day off work on a Friday, and the weather has been so bad, he's been doing some flying. He's hoovered all of the downstairs, and cleaned the kitchen, and he's also done some washing (although his idea of putting it away means taking it out of the TD and putting it in the basket to get creased). He even cooked the dinner tonight though, which was nice. Still feeling bunged up from my cold, and I'm absolutely shattered now, so I'm going to have an early night.

Hugs to all the poorlies, or those feeling down.
