Hotel Recommendation for San Francisco?

  • Many thanks for all the advice. Even though I had asked for FW area, after much discussion we have chosen the advised Chancellor Hotel. It seems to be central to all we want to do and convenient for visiting the relatives, (without being too close...);)
I have emailed them direct and they have quoted me $145 per night plus taxes,(their website said $200), making it $1005 approx for 6 nights. Is this a good deal? Is there anywhere I could try to maybe find this at a better rate?
    Thanks for all the advice!

Does that include their sales tax, hotel tax etc?

I had a look on Google maps to see if I could find the diner we used to go to for breakfast, but I can't see it, it was downhill from the Westin, and had fifties style booths and half a car hanging out of the wall, very retro, the breakfasts were fantastic!!

Anyone else remember the name of it?

I spotted the Gold dust bar - first non smoking pub we'd ever been in, hehe, was before the smoking ban came in over here.

  • Just been to SF and we stayed in The Nob Hill Motel which was a good location, walkable to FW but trams plentiful if your legs cant take anymore! It was about £130 a night, free breakfast and parking.

The sea lions are back, we saw about 50 laying about the place, a little whiffy but they were very funny.
