The OP mentioned trying the manager's mobile but not the landline in the shop. My guess is that the manager hasn't answered the mobile phonecalls.

Either way the OP isn't looking like the sharpest pencil in the box at the moment.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care
Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair0 -
ste-coxy, I think they want to know about the phone calls you say were ignored... do you mean that nobody actually answered the phone or did you speak to someone but who never then passed on your message to the manager?
Yes the phone calls I made rang out and I have sent text messages to the manager's mobile which have been ignored.0 -

I am being vague apparently. The questions that I were supposedly not answering were the same. I answered them as best I could. I'd prefer if people didn't throw their 2p in just to snigger or have a pop.0 -
No 1 is having a pop, its just hard as you aren't answering the questions that have been asked of you, you asked the question and people are trying to help
during the period you was ill did you ring any other times to say you were still ill ?
had you made an effort to go to the shop to speak to someone ?0 -

No because the manager told me that I should take the week off and that she would contact me next so I didn't try making contact until last week after not hearing back from her as she said she would.
The manager only tends to be during the day to do paper work, the rest of the time it is just whoever is covering working at the shop that is in. So whilst I was ill I couldn't get up there and because I work full time during the day I went back to work last week so can't get up there.
Is it worth contacting Job Centre Plus who I got the details of the job from and asking could they contact them on my behalf or CAB?0 -
Why get the JC/cab to call on your behalf, surely you should be doing it yourself0

How about answering this:
Ok - so you rang to say you were ill.
What happened next?
Have you told them you aren't ill any more?If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
I surrender. If you don't want to answer the questions, fine.0

OP is a waste of space.
A few good people trying to help and constantly hitting a brick wall.0
