Had a couple of spends during the past week and I've now spent a total of £85.84. I need to get another couple of bits and bobs to see me through the week. I didn't manage to find any pesto in Lidl today so I'm going to have to see if I can find any in my local coop as I'm meant to be cooking chicken in a creamy pesto sauce for my friend on wednesday! I was so sure I was going to find some in LidlMortgage-free wannabe 2025 £571/30000

Oh dear. Me + my sister = aimless supermarket shopping yesterday. Oops.
£11.95 in total
56p in Wilkinsons on some cleaning cloths and 2 x dishclothes.
£3.00 in Superdrug on body spray (I only bought some on Friday, but I always get it when it's on offer).
£4.39 in Farmfoods on crab sticks, toilet rolls, a bag of jelly babiesIt was 2pm and we hadn't eaten anything and needed sugar
Also got a big box of broken biscuits which we split between us.
Then we went to Morrisons and I spent £4.00 on some squash, chicken kievs (BOGOF) and some more shampoo and conditoner. They have an offer on their own version of Herbal Essences, so we split the offer. Worth a try if it saves more money.
My freezer is begging me not to squeeze anymore in it. I have quiche and other bits in there for lunches and plenty of other stuff, so I really really really must not buy anymore. If I keep saying it, I might start doing it.Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100

I know just what you mean! I spent £40 on Sainsbugs on jars of H+mepride Sauce because they were on 3 for 1 (did buy £18 of dishwashing powder as well though) I have absolutely no idea of where to store it all :rotfl: And don't know why I bought so many, I'm sure the offer will be on again at some point
Over the last couple of years I have come to the conclusion that spending is addictive......and it doesn't matter what we spend it on, it just brightens our day anyway especially if it was a bargain we just couldn't miss (cue 60 jars of sauce!) :rotfl:0 -
Spent £1.01 in Sainsbugs yesterday on a red pepper and two tomatoes that DD2 had to have for her Food Tech creation today - savoury rice - and £5 on cheese in the Co-op in the morning as it was on offer and we have nearly run out. Also bought some veg in the Co-op but will have to come back later to sort that out as don't know where the receipt is right now....December GC: £3500

Got some walnuts so will be baking something nice tonight for my daily work snack, probably some kind of oaty walnut biscuit. Hoping this to work out bettr value (and nicer!) than forking out for a pack of kit kats or similar every week.
Hmm, my walnut cookies turned into 'cookiemuffins'! :rotfl:
I made the mix then panicked when I realised all my oven trays were in use, except my muffin tin. So I stuffed a handful of mix into each muffin space. They are actually really nice and DDs both agree!
Looking forward to elevenses now, who needs kitkats? :T0 -
Darn, I forgot yesterday to add in the €22 I spent in the nice wine shop (on 2 bottles) on Friday, so I have to add that on to my total as well. (Cos I usually count alcohol, so it really ought to go in). And I thought I was doing so well. Serves me right for getting a decent couple of bottles for a change.
Last night, DD didn't want lamb in gravy with mash and veg, she wanted curry (there was a curry smell around when we got home), so I fried up some curry powder and added the lamb and gravy to that, with a handful of peas. Cooked some rice and she was delighted! (I will use the mash tonight instead). DH and I had the spag bol from the freezer.
Tonight, DD will have fried mash, and a fried egg. And DH and I will have the small half of the bag of fresh tagliatelle, with leftover bacon, some mushrooms, and the half chunk of blue cheese made into a sauce with a splash of cream and the last stick of garlic bread. (DH used up all the cheddar, so regular macaroni cheese wasn't an option!).GC 2010 €6,000/ €5,897
