£1.21 spend on bread i really wanted a NSD today but the kids are wanting hotdogs for lunch, wasnt tempted by anything else though :j0
-
Just back from MrS - £22.93
However according to till slip I saved £4.22 on special offers and I know it was more than that doing brand comparisons. Even had a job finding space in freezer and I can't remember the last time that happened so hopefully I can get through the rest of the month with minimal top-ups.0 -
Hiya all
Still away so another NSD which is good
10 Days to go till old el pay day so not worrying too much. I have freezers full of stuff but will need meat next month so will put in an order when I get back. I also got a £10 off £50 voucher emailed to me as I haven't done a sainsbury delivery for a while so will do that too to save some cash.
Can't believe how close it is to the C word now! Will Also need some tins of sweets for the kiddies on halloween!Feb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790 -
Hi All
I've had some non-spend days since Tuesday, but I spent £19.39 in Mr S today - updated signature. I'll also go to Mr T to get some extra things tomorrow - I've never been to this Mr T before so I'm hoping that there are not too many offers or reduced to clear offers so I don't steer away from my shopping list!
I went on mysupermarket before going shopping to compare the difference between Mr T and Mr S, and am buying the offers and products based on what supermarket is cheaper. Mr T was cheaper for meat, but Mr S was competive on other things. I got the Homeprid.e 3 for 1 sauces on offer - I never usually buy ready made sauces, but I thought I would give 3 a go, since they work out as 47p each so they can be a quick and easy meal after work
On a side note, my maths is really improving since I've started watching how much I spend. :rotfl: Mysupermarket is great for that, and I echo what others have been saying about larger sizes! For instance I usually get Fair.y Gel for washing clothes, and in Mr T a small bottle is £3 and works out as 16.7p per wash, but the 'on offer' larger bottle reduced from £8 to £5 costs 19.2p per wash on the 'reduced' price! It feels like a constant battle to try and beat the supermarkets, because prior to this I would have seen a big reduced sign and thought 'wow, that's really cheap, I had better pick that up!'. It seems like the 'bargains' they advertise are not always bargains.
Tonight I'm doing DIY Kofte Kebabs from BBCGoodfood - they look interesting, so hopefully they will be nice, and next week I'll do Mustard and Orange Pork Chops with spring onion and roasted cherry tomato couscous, Beef Paprikash, and some sort of curry.
I'm nearly half way through my budget already, and will spend more tomorrow but I'm hoping that after that I can have a good few NSD'sGrocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300

Hi All
Just popping on to update my spends again which so far total £94.72 for October - eeek; it's adding up a bit too quickly for my liking!
Another £16.16 in Aldi which included some more items for the pantry (winter storecupboard) such as tins, UHT milk etc. BTW has anyone tried Aldi freerange chicken? It's a very good price at just under £5 but I didn't think it had much flavour.
I've also been busy picking lots of damsons from the garden and freezing them to make jam, stewed damsons, wine and crumble/puddings in the coming months :-) I love autumn!0 -
More money spent today, £5.27 including our weekly paper, ho hum. Shouldn't need much in the week but need to do a meal plan.
Am making Cornish pasties for tonight, using a piece of whoopsied frying steak from the freezer. The boys can have those or there are 2 bits of breaded haddock in the freezer if they prefer - OH rather hopes there are 2 pasties left:)
Have used lots from the freezer, sadly enjoying crossing things off the list on the fridge door!0 -
afternoon all,
hope everyone`s doing well,
picked up a boots xmas gift guide . . . cant believe christmas is only round the corner!
hoping to get all mine doing begining of next month.
today i spent £16.84 in sainsburys,
mainly a top up of fresh stuff, milk, bread, veg, fruit & a few sweet treats.
tomorrow im doing my fave lamb kleftiko (greek style) looking forward to that, i use half leg of lamb for me & oh theres never any left!
loving wraps with lots of chicken & salad at the mo so i think a trip to lidl for the 40pence ones is in order,
off the update signature0 -
Spent another whopping £34.85 this week between various supermarkets but have replenished my supplies of reduced meats which should now get us through the month.
Toiletries mostly bought in now so I think we're just looking at top ups of milk, veg and fruit - hopefully the latter being bought reduced in the eves.
So envious of all those getting free fruit etc from their gardens. My plums, toms and marrows are done now so I'm back to buying.AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

Hi everyone
i`ve just updated my siggy againi talked myself into going to the local co-op for one of the Elmwood chickens even though i didn`t need it, when i got there i found that there were some of the larger Elmwoods whoopsied and a whole lot of other stuff too, i came away with 2 chickens, 2 quiche, sausages and smoked haddock all of which had been marked down - oh and 3 bars of the Green & Blacks choccie which is on offer at half price :j
There were lots more too but i knew that i`d struggle to store what i had never mind any more. When i got home i did the freezer shuffle so later tonight i shall put some raspberries in the dehydrator as they are thawing atm. I managed to get everything in one of the freezers except one chicken so i`ll cook that first thing tomorrow before i go to work and then everything will be taken care of
The best thing is that i needed eggs and they completely slipped my mind so i shall have to pop to the shops before next weekend anyway. I`ll see how long i can manage without.
All in all i`m very pleased with todays unexpected haul, still on track for this month too - just
Happy shopping peeps.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0
