Good morning folks, can I increase my budget to £450 please as I am intending stocking up my cupboards so I dont have any shopping to get in January other than bread/milk etc as January is a hard month for our finances. Had a big delivery from Tesco, it was a day early but I wanted to take advantage of the cheap persil (which worked!) so I have spent £121 already this month, however wont need to spend much for the next two weeks at least other than the monthly chicken order from the local factory.
Good luck to you all,Every days a School day!0 -
jayjay thats good news :T
Savvy i like lidls meat too we had the casserole beef last weekend and it was really tender
hoping for a NSD ( for food anyway -i am looking for a birthday present for DD2)
Disdisbif your budget is half mine ( we both have teenagers) how do you do it ? i will struggle to stay within £500 ( 5 weeks)
just had sainsbugs basics crumpet and they were yummy ( mind you they had lurpak on - yummy)0 -
NSD yesterday and only need some bits today so doing fine so far.
OH is signing off at the Dole office this morning which will give him great pleasure I'm sure, though they have been very good to him really so no complaints there. As his job is through an agency in the first instance he will be paid weekly so we only have to wait until 15th for his first pay which will be a relief - so looking forward to be able to afford a trip to costco:rotfl:
In the mean time I may get to Sainsbugs tomorrow as I have a £6 off £30 spend which runs out tomorrow and need stuff I can get there.0 -
Crikey, reading through the thread from scratch and it's going up by pages as I read through them!
I've never been very good at the Grocery Challenges, but I'm going to give it another go this month. Could you please put me down for £250 for October? If I am so unsuccessful in meeting my target I'll raise the bar a bit.
I don't need to buy anything grocery-wise today, so it should be a no-spend day for me. Mr T have an offer for 6 tins of Heinz soup (in limited flavours) for £3, so DH put 6 in the trolley last time we went shopping. I will make my own soup for myself, but DH likes the branded ones (until I can persuade him otherwise.) I'm trying to get a recipe for a Minestrone soup we had a little while back and will work that into the mealplan soon! So, soup tonight with croutons and some warm bread, and I've done my mealplan for the week ahead. At the weekend I'll do my shopping list but I'm planning to not do a main shop until Thursday or Friday next week.
Hope you don't mind me joining in again.
