  • Well the September GC was a total loss and I failed miserably:o so I am starting the October challenge with renewed optimism and a fresh look at the store cupboards ,the slow cooker and the pressure cooker!!
    Mrs M:T
Please can I be included for £260 in October
    - thanks for all the recipe ideas I'm slowly trying as many as possible

In all honesty I can't seem to keep an eye on the money unless I keep checking how everyone else is doing as it makes me more aware of how much things cost -it is soooo much easier to keep on track with an extra bit of support from you lot!!
Thanks and good luck to everyone :D
May you fill up the great clutterbucket of life and may all of your leaks be in cheese sauce:D
Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without:cool:
  • please put me down for £300 again please. thank you. was £40 over for sept but stocked up lots of things so should be easy this month.
    Happy days

We have done a stock up shop at Mr M, so this is my first spend, £64.14. Hoping I'm organized now for household plus store-cupboard. Meal planned for 8 days but will need to pick up a chicken, milk and bits.

Regarding spring onions, my DH cooks pasta shapes, strains them and stirs in chopped spring onions, chopped fresh tomatoes and grated cheese, just warm it though and serve with black pepper. Very nice and quick.
  • Declaring September at £94.50 with £25.50 left over to go into my holiday jar for next year

Octobers food budget will be £120.00 as usual, as I find its a reasonable sum which allows for all eventualities ( the odd visitor ect) I am very pleased with this months results and I think we should all take a pat on the back.

Was hoping for my first NSD of the month today but the dog has got through his tins of food at an alarming rate this week. So will have to do an emergency trip to the expensive Mr S near work to get him enough to tide him over until big shop 2m eve grr.

    PET FOOD -
I have 4 cats and regularliy shop online , and get cheaper prices.
ZOOPLUS are good, offer free delivery when you spend £19 and have a 5% discount for first orders ( or for any new email address you register ! ) . Plus cashback through quidco & topcashback. Have lots of regular discounts & coupons.
I also sometimes use VETUK LTD- who deliver next working day. I check these two sites and petplanet to see who has the best offers before I order.

Re-cats I do find Aldi cat food is good my cats have allergies but are fine with this , plus its a good price. Plus have the best cat litter. Not sure if the dog food is the same.

    FARMFOODS DISCOUNTS -
Got some discount vouchers through my door- so will help me reach target.
However I got lots of £5 off £50 spend ones which are no use to me. If anyone could do with them I could post them.
  • Can I be put down for £200 again this month please?

*I WILL keep track, I WILL keep track, I WILL keep track, I WILL keep track, I WILL keep track*

:) Thank you, will def check it out. Is it best to buy in bulk? Don't have one near me, but will look @ the P&P for ordering online.

PetsatHome has free delivery ATM and no minimum charge - bulk buying works if you have the space, I buy dried food for my two and buying online saves me heaving sacks of grub in/out of car. Hope this helps:)

That's good to know re cat food - my little "prince" only eats Whis&as dry and I'm always scared to try any other brand. He's a pampered persian and easily disturbed by cahnge:(, but I might give the Aldi stuff a try, he needs to learn we all need to tighten our belts;)

  • Had a MrT delivery which came to £46.18....more than I was planning but hopefully it will last me a while. Mmm...who I am kidding
