    ARG.

Don't think I'll make my lowered target.

Got another two AFDs in the bag, taking me up to
    9/10
, but our romantic evening got moved from Thursday to tonight - we went to an address by General Lord Guthrie instead, about the defence of the ol' realm, and his opinions on the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts. Was really interesting! But had a beer afterwards :o - just the one though, Guiness to keep my strength up and fight of this cold that is trying to malinger (not sure whether I can scientifically back up that claim... :rotfl:).

Anyway, due to the romantic evening being moved to tonight, I'm not sure if I'll be AF. Probably won't drink much, don't feel like it after decidedly over-indulging with my mother staying (Oh my goodness... I am the student here but she can drink me under the table... it worries me a bit!), but may well have one or two.

It just shows really, how easy it is for me to drink a bit too regularly. I'd like to set my March target at 10 again, but will hopefully be smashing that this time! :j

  • Good afternoon all

Bit of a busy morning here so didn't get a chance to get on.

For some reason I thought it would be a great idea to have a "few" glasses of wine last night.:o So had a thick head this morning and had to get piglet to school and myself to work. I really am stupid sometimes.

Definately won't be drinking tonight so am declaring 22 in total for Feb please Shaggy! And thank you for once again doing a fantastic job of scoring!:T

Think I will stay target free again for March. Seems to work (most of the time) for me!

Stressedoutsue - sounds like you had a great time on holiday!:TDon't think I could ever go ski-ing..my balance is terrible!!:rotfl:(plus I hate being cold!!!:rotfl:)

Lotti - enjoy your romantic evening!

Plans here...watch the final of biggest loser whilst doing a spot of knitting, then early to bed!:)

    Miss P
    xx

Completing February with 28 please Shaggy.

I have been reading a book called
Adult Children: Secrets of Dysfunctional Families

And recommend it highly. My father has problem with alcohol and my mother is tee total but the dysfunction doesn't have to do with addiction it can be just about learnt coping mechanisms that won't work. And event than my mum didn't drink I think more of the dysfunction to me came from her. Please get hold of this book and read it. If it is not for you it might at least help someone close to you.

Thank you so so so much for doing a grand job of the scoring.

I`m not going to drink any alcohol tonight so I am declaring a FULL 28 DAYS FOR FEBRUARY.

Its been a struggle at times, the two worst times this month were going out with friends who like a drink or five - first for a meal which was manageable as I volunteered to drive but the hardest time was going to a friends party where I would normally have got absolutely trollyed. It was soooo difficult watching everybody else drinking their socks off and I felt envious and resentful until the next day when they all declared they felt like sh*t and it made me realise that putting up with a few hours of being envious was worth the lack of hangover the next day. The older I get the worse the hangovers and the longer it takes me to recover and I really dont want to put myself through it time and time again so 77 AF days later I`m deciding all the agony of abstaining is worth it.

    Good luck everybody for March

I had, or rather HAVE these sorts of feelings about my mum. Even though it was my dad who drank himself to death, it's my mum's reactions and actions that haunt me. I should read this book X
    Need to start again :o
  • Thank you so much for scoring Shaggy.

20 days for me please Shaggy.

There were a couple more for me in Feb, but as I failed miserably over the last few days I'm not even declaring them. Have been awful over the weekend.

But nothing today and tomorrow is March. I've upped my challenge and aim to get there :D
