  • Hi Cleggie

I was a Friday night bottle of wine treat myself person too, trouble is it then crept to Saturday night then a few nights during the week etc etc. How about treating yourself to a bit of a pamper instead, a hot bath, get into bed early with a book you have been meaning to read and keep the thought of how you are going to have a wonderful clear head in the morning and a whole Saturday to do all the things you normally feel too wacked to do. Think one step ahead and think of the mornnings.

    26 PLEASE SHAGGY
  • Morning all

Cleggie - think Trasi's idea of pampering yourself is a good one. I find if I can keep myself occupied, I can resist the lure of the wine bottle. Also, finding things to concentrate on helps - I've recently discovered knitting and theres no way I can knit if I've had a few.So doing that helps. Good luck anyway :)

Budgie - thank-you for your lovely words.:o I guess being a Mum has its ups and downs...but the Ups make all the downs worth it. Such as this morning....we are trying to ebay to raise money for excess on insurance on car, and to paint the small bedroom (recently changed that to a room both stepkids share, so piglet can have his own room at last). Piglets playhouse in the garden is too small so he said we could sell it. He's out there now helping Daddy clean it up. Looks very cute:)

Maman - good to see you back!:T

Trasi- thats the problem with me too! Its was only last year that i started drinking during the week, as it started off with every Friday night, then it was every Friday and Saturday, then it became every Friday,, Saturday and 1 night during the week...then other days would start to get added!
Now i am back down to just the Friday night again..but am determind to crack the Friday night mentality!

Thanks to you and Miss Piggy for the ideas- i think i need to keep as busy as possible, and also have a nice hot bubble bath and read some books, have early nights etc.
I oftern feel bad that i dont take the kids out at weekends because on the Saturday i am hungover..makes me feel (and sound) like a bad mum :(
  • Hi all

Back from skiing in the Alps - fantastic, I tried and loved cross country skiing this time, while the rest of the family threw themselves down the slopes!

Didn't do TOO badly on the wine side, but only had one AFD. :oThis means I'll miss my target by 1 - I contemplated not telling the truth to our darling Shaggy, but I would be only cheating myself  Just shows how helpful being a member of this thread is to me. :T Oh, and I almost forgot - I've put on 4 lbs, which is definitely due to the wine. Drat, drat, drat. So I'll be running every other day this week and will alternate that with swimming. I HATE feeling fat.

So I'm on 19 AFDs please, Shaggy.
    March target: 25 please
And again, thanks so much for scoring again for Feb and for March.

Great to see Budgie here again, hi to the new people, and glad to see Jo1972 is OK too. Good to see you back from Paris, Maman - you did very well wine-wise - probably slightly better than me :o.

Have a good Sunday everybody ;)

I tell you his imagination was always on overdrive, bless him :A

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
