Good morning all

I'm strangely calm today. Had an issue with stepdaughter last night (she text OH saying she wanted granny and grampy to pick them up at weekends and not me, as they really love granny and grampy. Think I got the meaning hidden between the lines there!). After yesterday, it was the last thing I needed.

I just thank god I wasn't drinking last night. I was completely sober and, although I got very upset, I think me and OH came to an understanding. I want nothing more to do with his parents. I said this last year and then let it slide a bit. No more. I just can't be doing with the aggravation. Same with the kids. In future its OH's responsibility - I want nothing to do with any decision making with regards to them. I will be friendly, but thats the limit. I've invested so much time and energy and been shot down so many times that I can't do it any more. My priority is Piglet.

I know this all sounds very dramatic....and I'm very sorry to dump it on all of you!! My life must sound like a soap opera! Just don't want to dump anymore on my Mum as she has enough on her plate at the moment. And you guys listen so well.:):o

Anyhoooo....as I said before, I was so glad I wasn't drinking. At least I woke up this morning not regretting anything I said last night. And thats a first!:o

Miss P, very wise. You can be there as a sounding board for OH but not actually the driving force. Saves a lot of aggro for you. Certain battles just are not worth it.

Seriously MissP, you know my opinion on MIL particularly. To think the StepS wouldn't have come last weekend it it wasn't for you! StepD isn't a child any more so hopefully OH will tell her that she needn't worry as she's been so rude that you wouldn't dream of coming again. BUT, in future, if MIL has a cold or some other world shattering event on or he has to work then their weekends will get cancelled.

Totally agree with marru, keep as low a profile as possible and try not to let them upset you.

P.S. Well done for not turning to drink as a solution!

Morning everyone - I've just realised that half term falls in this month, so staying under 21 will be a very difficult challenge indeed!! Maybe I will start a half term specific challenge when it comes about!

Miss P, Step families can be soooo difficult to manage - just make everything as stress free as possible for YOU and piglet

I went out last night and had a glass of bubbly and half a glass of rose, so very moderate. Trouble is that now I really fancy a glass of white wine - I don't think we have any in the house though. I'll see how I feel when dinner hits the table as a glass of wine with dinner can be very civilised!

So my total for February is 7 days please Shaggy and 2 still for the challenge Pen
