:wave:Hello all. Good to see you back HB, I wondered where you'd been. You too DB!

Good on you Aaagh. It is really difficult at first but I promise it gets easier (well it did for me). Well done on getting DP on your side. You must be determined not to give in but to drink when you want to (or not as the case may be). It feels good to be in control.

I still have problems sleeping RN but I think the truth is I'm a poor sleeper (or have become so in recent years) and the wine masks it a bit as I go off to sleep much faster when I've been drinking. I still wake up at least once in the night AF or not. Fortunately I don't have those horrible dreams that jo had.

I've had another successful night (probably the last for October as I've got people coming round tomorrow).

3 for this week's challenge please jo and

14 AF for October please Shaggy.

P.S. Thanks Shaggy for the scoring and :T on your own success:A

I'm away next week for a few days and I know I'll be having wine with meals etc (it's the etc that can cause the trouble). I MUST not overindulge. Vain, frivolous me is more worried about the 5lbs than anything else:o.

Stick to the govt guidelines and you'll be fine.
I know with me, I need to be careful in that if I am denying myself more drink, I feel justified for eating more (& more fattier food!)

    Enjoy the trip!!

New to this - I was just looking at the website but felt I had to write when I saw this thread ... so much in common. I, too have ended up in silly debt and have no doubt it was related to my drinking. I gave up drinking some time ago and have a DMP now. Facing the reality of my compulsive/destructive behaviour at the ripe ol' age of 54! - but it is so very much better every day than the depressive pit of drinking too much and spending money I didn't have.
Thank you all being there and for this opportunity to share some of my story.

Welcome to the thread rio0710 and well done on your achievement. Could I ask how long you have been sober and how you achieved sobriety in the first place. This is the sort of information that can help/give encouragement to those of us who are still struggling.

Aaagh well done on day 1. You now know you can do it. Are you going to try again today? It will be a little easier now you know you can.

Thanks for all your comments re sleep. I think I received some combined vibes because I slept much better last night. I feel better for it this morning.

    Jo 3:)'s please.

    Shaggy 22 for October please.

Hi rit and welcome  good luck on your journey to quit/cut down. We will be there all the way :) xx

RN, glad you hear you got a better nights sleep. I managed another 8 1/2 hours solid deep sleep, something must be said for this not drinking!

Gotta dash, running a bit late....though :shhh: don't tell anyone....I'm skiving today.....not from work people, I've told them I'm taking a day off....I'm skiving from OH and the kids and going shopping....ALL DAY :D, if I told them I'd have to either take the kids, or come home early or meet OH somewhere, no way Jose, it's my day :D :shhh:. Just hope that none of them try and ring the work number, though there's only 3 people in so hopefully they won't answer it :rotfl:

Another one for me Shaggy, sorry I don't do it in bold and colour but I have no idea how many I'm on and I don't want to know :)
