K800i - Doesnt turn on but charges?!?!?

I recently got a K800i back from a buyer on eBay. Long story.

The phone is in mint condition, all protective covers still on and boxed, however, it worked when I had it and now it seems after a few weeks the phone doesnt want to turn on.

When I charge it, it charges fine and the screen lights up normal showing that its charging but when I hold the on/off button nothing happens.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any tips? I got it checked out at one shop and they said a repair charge of £70-£75 will be charged, will get it checked out in markets and cheaper areas.

Please help, cant afford to go out of pocket!

Thanks,

MoE

if its brand new/nearly new will sony ericsson not repair it under warranty free of charge?

They normally determine it from the phones serial number/ IMEI

I never once used a reciept for my Nokia.

They just looked up the serial number of the phone.

    Try the Carphonewarehouse.

however, did the seller tell u it had a fault? You may be able to claim back via ebay or paypal?

I tried the batery method and it didnt work. I got a Carphone Warehouse nearby, would taking it to them get me a replacement or something?

I sold it on eBay and the buyer sent it back dodgy, either way I got to fix the phone.

Would I need anything? Should I just pop in and ask for it to be fixed/replaced?

Never done this before so all help is appreciated.

cpw with onsite repair may do it but they are sometimes funny about proof of ownership
sure it was the same one you sold that you got back? wouldnt be the 1st time someone had swapped the pcb for a faulty one

Long story. It is the right one but somehow the phone was damaged when I got it back, it ws perfectly fine when I left it. I am going through a Paypal dispute which I dont think I will win, however, it buys me a bit of time to get the phone fixed and send it back to the buyer than do a refund as I'm low on money atm.

If they do suspect it might be stolen, surely I can prove them wrong by having the box and by them checking the IMEI number?

Im 17, I got a feeling carphone warehouse might want someone over 18 to go and get it repaired? Best if I send my older brother or someone? I hope they do it on site as I need to send the phone back to the buyerr.

Thanks Drachir for the super fast response and help!

i dont think they will think its stolen - otherwise the phone would be barred.
they just like to see proof of purchace.
i usually say i cant find it and 9/10 they fix it anyway.
    still better using crc imho

I'll take it down CPW first and see what they say. If they dont repair/replace it then I'll just send it off to crc.

I dont know nothing about crc...what do I do? Call them first?
