Hi all
I have started my PGCE application today and I am just inputting my qualifications. I am on the section where it asks for your english GCSE but then when you click to add it it offers the option of the equivilent/higher ones.
I got an A Level in english so is it better i put that there or the gcse?

What is the grade of your A level? If it is below a C grade, I would be tempted to put your GCSE grade.0

My A Level is an A Grade. My English Language at GCSE is an A* grade0
-
I would put the A level grade as you need a minimum C grade at GCSE, clearly the A at A level is of a higher level - hope that makes some sort of sense!0

Thanks. I was unsure as while it asks for the gcse grade it gives the option to input the higher one. WIll input the higher one0

you need to put in both as all courses require to have a c or above in english and maths, and science for primary at gcse level. theres a bit futher down the page where you can put your a level grades and subjects in
are you having any problems with the form itself? it wont allow me to put 2011 as my degree completion year or accept my degree start date as september 2008 despite saying in the grade drop-down box that it's to be completed0 -

Hi I phoned the GTTR and they are aware of the 2011 tab not showing. they told me to check back everyday until I can see it! Not great as I wanted to send it off asap.

ah i did wonder if it was a glitch from last years form. thanks for replying. i have also just emailed them asking why this is so. guess we'll have to wait a few more days. i also wanted to get it done today before the deadlines roll in next week! at least it gives us the weekend to improve the personal statements!0 -
I was planning on putting both in jsut wasn't sure which one i should put under english qualification as teh a level is obviously higher.0

Unless GTTR have said otherwise, I think that box is specifically for GCSE or (Scottish) Higher grades - A levels etc should be filled in further down the form, alongside your other A level results*2016 - the year of the savings account!*

This form is a nightmare!!!!!! Theres the issue with degree dates and currently it's not recognising double award science as a valid GCSE!!!
