That can't be right... You probably have XP Home installed and Front Page doesn't have anything to do with Windows Update.

It's lkely that it's asking for a Office XP disc, possibly because you tried to open a certain type of file.

Honestly Donnie, that is exactly what it is saying when the update is trying to install. Let me try and get a screen print for you. I am not trying to open any files, just do the yellow shield update as you advised.

If it's prompting for the disk, a file, log, or registry entry has probably gone awol at some point, so it needs the disc to fix it. disk cleaners can sometimes cause this problem.

run this, if svchost is the culprit, you need to dig a little deeper to find which dll it is.

find the svchost which is throttling the cpu, then click on it, and click on image, and post the command line

It keeps going back and forth between that svchost and "system idle".

looking at your pictures they are for Office service Pack, You need to update XP to service pack 3. This is a link here for that you need to use IE (it wont work with Firefox) I will leave Donnie to look at your hijack stuff since he is on the case, looks like he might have been on here quite late yesterday.

Nothing worrying on the log. The fact that you can install SP3 was a good sign. If you don't use http://www.shopandscan.com/index.asp , then you can tick and fix this line: O16 - DPF: {EBB176D2-AF75-4706-832F-4C8448F72757} (TNSClickerc.Clicker) - http://www.shopandscan. com/TNSClickrc.CAB

Closed may well talk you through the use of Process Explorer, in order to diagnose what software is hogging your CPU and if there is a remedy.
