Hehe, yes you'd need to enunciate clearly when suggesting it!

Cripes, Ilovecubbage, that clip is mad! Obviously you dont do any of that until you're really advanced, but what fun!

I encouraged my XH to go to salsa/ballroom classes.. and he found himself another woman.. so unwelcome attention is there too.. due to many of the women going for these exact reasons stated by the OP.. ~Most classes finish late as well..

I'd suggest going elsewhere and building up a friend base so you didn't have to go out alone anywhere... educational classes.. photography, sewing, languages.. whatever takes your fancy. Libraries often run clubs as do churches. Or how about joining a gym or something and join their group classes.. swimming even?

Thank you all for suggestions, I have now sighned up to some of your suggestions and should be going out next week! :)

What do I wear for Salsa?
I haven`t worn a skirt or heals for years! Can I come in trousers and some top? Would that be too scruffy?
I am getting really excited, will be probably stamping on everybodys foot, lol.
    Thanks again

Clothing is usually casual so jeans/trousers and top are fine for salsa classes however, many of the ladies at the clubs I go to wear skirts as it's cooler (so I'm told). Party nights can be more showy but you don't have to dress up for them. You will need to wear heels (not stilettos) and preferably dance shoes with suede soles (Amazon link as an example) however I'd see how you get on before getting the shoes. You could get away with flats initially at a push. Maybe the salsara's can tell you more.

Wear anything you want! I used to wear jeans and a loose top that would be cool and not ride up with the movement.

Shoes or boots with a small heel would probably be best, I wore flat pumps for a while but they made my legs ache as you are up on the balls of your feet a bit.

I bought proper dance shoes when I moved up to the intermediate class but you don't need them to start with.

After we started doing Salsa classes my misses said she was going to get steel-toecap boots. I can't imagine why.
