Hi Bluejeans; Going rate round here for cleaners/ shoppers is minimum £7.00 an hour. I'd say work out what it would cost you to go there and add that to £7.00 an hour.
    Good for you.:j

  • I have decided o ask for £10 per hour, this will include petrol money to get there and back and petrol money for going to do the shopping, parking fees etc. I will be picking up and filling prescriptions too, so a bit of running about to do. I know they will try to give me petrol money every time I use my car, so I will explain that all costs have been included. Do you think this is a fair amount ?

Well I am starting to decorate my bedroom today.

Paint and Emulsion I already have :j. Wallpaper i got two rolls for £10. Just need to look around for a nice off cut carpet. We have a nice reasonable carpet shop not far from us, its a small business not a big concern and they always advertising "off cuts" that are room size. I am going to have a look today. Budgeted for £50

Hanging onto money OK, becoming a bit of a skinflint (so DH says) :rotfl:going from one extreme to the other.

    :)

BlueJeans: £10 is absoloutly fine - I wouls say that with the running around etc thats about right. Do be careful if you do any bigger trips as your petrol will soon go, but otherwise its good.

Check out the recomended mileage allowance I think its about 27pence a mile now.

Good for you on doing your bedroom, I plan to decorate my kitchen in the next few weeks.

Hope DH is on the mend.

  • Hiya, I am still here

A few things kept me away.

DH hogging the PC as he is off work. He is going back to work, a week Monday :j:j:j. Very difficult being :money:with him off. Today for instance I went out to pay my rent and get some milk, DH came with me, we paid rent and milk cost me £8 odd !!! and then he wanted to go in or coffee NOOOOOO WAY a 10 minute car drive from home.

Started using my money tracker on my BB properly on Monday and had been a bit hitty missy since getting it, its amazing how it makes you think, I hate having to put a spend in it :money:

Also been tidying and sorting. Two bags to the charity shop and I have four things to Ebay one being DGD cot bed. She old enough for the single bed, the sides are off her cot bed, so should be fine in single bed. That will give a a bit more room in spare bedroom and a decent bit of extra cash.

Also her car seat is too small for her, checked out Ebay today and found a practically brand new one, they have original box and instructions :money:£4.99:money: free local pick up :j:j:j fingers crossed that I get it.

Back to work tonight for me.

    :)

  • P.S.

Went to my new job on Wednesday. I did 10.30 till 12.30 and they paid me £20 no problem. Doing next Wednesday 11 till 1pm. Having a think about what to do with my £20 's ? Thinking of using it as my "me" money so it will keep me from spending from my current account ?

Bluejeans; Hope by now the bedroomis almost decorated. I love decorating but not the disruption that goes with it!
What a bargain on the slow cooker - I wasn't sure when I first got mine but now I love it. I found I had to play around a bit to get things how I wanted them, not to wet. But now it's a real boon. Can do cheaper cuts of meat, cook for hours and get lovely results - seems to make things go further also.

Not long now an your DH will be back at work and you'll be back posting regularly.:j
