Well, I've had a nice afternoon. Signed up for Spanish and Creative Writing. Picked up my ticket for As You Like It tommorrow, and got a text back from my friend, she wants to go see Hamlet, she's going to get back to me with dates she can make. Then I went to get the Opera season ticket and ticket for Iain Banks at Morley (sorry Snaggs, I'm not going to the same one as you) but chose the one afternoon they're shut. Ordered a load of photo's, to clear my camera, including some big prints of ones I took in Venice, and looked at offers in Boots, which I'll buy tomorrow. Then met my support worker.
I've only been to the opera once - I got a free ticket for Pinocchio! This season looks good though - Turn of the Screw, Carmen, The Merry Widow, and a few I haven't heard of. And my friend promises me they have captions with the words!
Then tonight I'm going out to a meeting about how the new arena's going to affect the local area.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

Evening all
I'd not say no to John Simm.
Had a stupidly busy day what with one thing or another. DH had a really horrible experience with one of his specialists too after trying to get hold of her for 3 months, contacted PALs today and she phoned and had a go at him for involving them....needless to say he's asked to be seen by someone different.. But in better news his driving assessment is booked for 2 weeks time....nearest assessment centre is 2 trains away so that will be fun....wheelchairs and trains just don't mix well.
Plans for this evening - drink half a glass of wine (it's been poured but I don't really fancy it) Eat some pate and go to bed. It's life on the very edge."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Pooky does your doctor's surgery have volunteers who take people to medical appointments ? They do where I live. Or you could try the WRVSNothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

Hi Elli  We've joined the local volunteer drivers place but to be honest most of their drivers are about 90 years older than god and scare the b'jesus out of me (the last one went round all the "parked traffic" and through a red light - I had to explain the traffic was waiting for the lights - not actually parked.....he just laughed and said - "oh well, we still beat them!!!!). Their petrol costs won't be much cheaper than the train either. But thanks

Ames~Where did you get your leg excerciser thingy?I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. Pooky, grr to the specialist. Make sure you book assistence for the train, they'll help you on and off and around the station.
Beanie, grr to primarni. I'll go look to see if I can find details of where I got my exerciser from.
Well the arena looks really good, and they've allayed some (but not all) of my worries about the impact, since it's pretty much on my doorstep. And I've joined a local management committee, I've been wanting to for ages and it's all just been reorganised so it's a good time.
ETA: Beanie, it was here http://www.betterlifehealthcare.com/products.php?search_filter=0&catID=42&subID=292&pg=1&set_records_per_page=15&show_offers=0&search=1&search_text=pedal+exerciser
I got the top one, but it's a bit wobbly cos it's plastic, I'd get the second one down that's metal, it's only a fiver more.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
