I've got a few albums of holiday photos and ... sweet f.a. apart from that! It really makes you think though - how the hell is it possible to spend all that money and have nothing to show for it? It could have been my house deposit....

Well my debt racked up at uni - I got addicted to ebay for a bit, so still got some of that, which I could probably sell. But more recent debt has gone on things like rent when I was unemployed and more recently - a new laptop! Also lots of memories of nights out and music gigging - Muse at Wembley was the best.

The worst debt I have is to my mum and is for a stupid reason - moving to a place where I wasn't entitled to housing benefit for 2.5 months. So had to borrow money from her and also my sister - which is mostly paid off now.

I don't mind having some of the debt I have now because I know it's gone towards things I need and want. I would go mad if I couldn't go some of the stuff I have planned or planned. I'm just trying to spend less on unnecessary things like fast food, interest on the debt, food at work, clothes and travel.
  • At the time I really got into debt, Id probably just wasted it on CDS, clothes, clubbing, going out and holidays. However when I think back to it I have halved that debt and still done so much- degree, masters, holidays so there's loads of lovely memories and qualifications! Thinking about it the total left to pay back is not much more than I have paid out in msc fees so its actually not so bad when you look at it like that:-)
Debt free and busy treating myself:)

No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales
  • I feel quite unfashionable for this thread! My debt = tuition for my MSc. Though I was going to say its just a bit of paper, it has actually helped me get good work. I worked as a student and covered my living costs that way, so it didn't balloon, and I was lucky enough to find work right away when I was done, so I've never really lived outside my means.

    I'll get my coat! :)
