its great when you finally open up the box/tube and see what you've saved,
another way i've found is recently, natwest offered £25 to open a new a bank with them (like an incentive). Which i kinldy accepted,
i've set up a direct tranfer between my main account and this new one for £5 per week, (they must hate me) but it easier to save and you dont notice it building upYou Can, If You Think You Can!0 -
On the savings front does anyone know where i can get hold of one of those giant bell's wiskey bottles been looking for years. Check ebay but nothing Any help to help me save some pennies0

Great tip but ended up costing me a fortune on the pot website! ???
Oh well back to the money saving tips ::)Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -
Interesting - I'd never thought of this as 'free money' before. Every couple of weeks I scoop all the loose coppers off the plate in my bedroom and dump it in a big Crespo olive jar. I had about £60 in there last time I counted.
Definitely check under sofa cushions if you're short of cash! Every time I go round to my mums she claims she checks the sofa after I've gone and gets a couple of quid off me! Cheeky cow!0 -
I love all the ideas for saving small change. Also interested by what different people consider "small" change - for me, saving £1 or £2 coins is an absolute no no. Anything above 5p is fair game for me to spend!
But 1, 2 & 5ps go into a tin & then get bagged up & banked. I don't find the limit of 5 bags a problem, because I deliberately only use a small tin. I know the interest on a couple of pounds isn't much, but would still rather be earning a little than leaving it sitting in a cupboard earning nothing at all!0 -
...even better....save your pennies in a used branston pickle jar! The factory is now burnt down so the jar will be a collectable for the future!! ;D

Funnily enough, my mum came round today with a jar and said she was really surprised to see some in Tesco today, as she knew the factory burnt down.
I knew nothing of this especially as we'd been buying it at work over the summer and a few months back.
So when did this happen?
Merry Christmas everyone!0 -

Have just finished a huge jar of pickles so will cut a slot in that and seal the top with tape, can't bear to break one of those pots especially when the £16.50 could go in my very reasonably priced pickle jar!0
