  • AndreaE...

I really have no idea about TV packages, sorry.
  • This sounds really interesting. However I have some questions. Who do you call, do you get a list? Also is it cold calling or are people you are calling those that have received a service and are likely to answer the surveys e.g. bought a fridge from a store and then said store wants a survey answered.

How many calls do you think you have to make to get one answered/completed (just wondering if it will fit my current call package FOP), and how long do the surveys typically take.

    Many thanks.

    ANGELFLOWER...

Surveys can last from a few minutes to several minutes. How long they last depends to a great extent on how you take control of the call.

The calls are presented to you via a website and you complete entry of customer replies on-line. Upon completion of the survey the results are immediately sent back to Optimum Contact and you can raise your invoice 4 days later (via the website).

You will be calling customers of well-recognised brands, and the calls are customer satisfaction surveys only. Customers may be new to the brand or used them continuously for over 70 years!

In terms of a call package, you really do need one that gives you unlimited calls as you could make up to 100 calls in a single day. That means checking the small print, for any exclusions, to avoid an unwanted high bill! I would also make sure that you tell your phone/internet provider that you will be using the line for business.
  • hi Paul,

The success rate on calls can vary quite a lot. You may get four customers in a row willing to do surveys; at other times you can make 30+ calls without success.

But what really counts is what you can earn per week/month etc. for the effort put in and what your total expenses are. If you already have broadband/phone with unlimited calls your extra expenses are really quite negligible. A few pence extra electricity each day and £2.40p per week for NI contributions (assuming you have to or wish to pay them).
  • Success :j I have now heard from Optimum Contact and I have been accepted!

Cant wait to get started :)

Anyone know the best time to nake the calls? Just tried about 10 people and they all either weren't in, or asked me to call back another time and then hung up! Lol.

It does say up to 8.30pm but is 7-8pm a bit late to call people do you think? I don't think I'd like a survey phonecall that late in the evening...
  • vixxxen...

The best time to call is usually in the afternoon or evening. I don't like doing certain surveys in the late evening but with others I feel comfortable doing that. Personally, I never call anyone after 8pm (unless it is a callback).

If anyone says it is not convenient at that moment, you must use your persuasive skills to get them to provide you with a time to call back.
