I expect Tesco have a tipping point when the sell their shizzle on, probably you've paid them enough back to make selling your debt ok, maybe even profitable for them.....Tesco are a company lead by greed after all.

Although I've never dealt with any myself, from reading on here, I would be lying if I said you're not going to go through it with these people.

Just meet them on even ground, don't be bullied and remember a bit of the old Dunkirk spirit :)

Yeah, I know. It's just life is depressing enough not being able to work (I was a teacher for many years before my accident) and feeling useless enough without these wide boys causing me more grief. I know its no one elses problem on here but mine, but its good for me to hear how others have dealt with these people.

Don't worry, you will get plenty of help and support on here, to enable you to deal with them. Just remember Martin's words "they can't have what you haven't got!"

Moorcroft can be a nasty bunch of t*ssers so don't give them an inch. Deal only in writing, if they phone you (and they will. A lot) don't answer the security questions, say that you want to only be contacted in writing and please do not phone here again. There is a template letter for phone harassment if you find you need it come back, someone will point you in the right direction. When they send you the payment book continue paying your £17 even if it says more on the book. As has been said earlier...they can't have what you haven't got. If they ask for proof of expenditure, send them a copy of your SOA, making sure that you only have £17 left for them each month:p

I'm sorry, SOA is Statement of Affairs http://www.makesenseofcards.com/soacalc.html

It does all the calculations for you and you can jiggle around a bit to get it how you want it. They're really helpful for making you see where your money goes each month. You can post it on here too if you'd like and the lovely people on MSE will help you get the most out of what you have :)

This sounds pretty much like the 'Income and Expenditure' forms I have filled in for other companies in the past. Is there any difference?

Basically its the same thing. This one is handy for MSE though as it can be formatted for posting on the forums for help if needed.

Income and Expenditure forms are the same as a Statement of Affairs, they both basically tell your creditor what your income is and what your outgoings are. They have no right to bank statements, benefit letters and the like, do not send them anything about any other creditors you may have, it's none of their business. It is worth letting them have a SOA so that they can see that you're not living the high life whilst avoiding your debts but regardless, they will still try to bully and harrass you into paying more. Don't speak to them on the phone and definitely don't rely on emails, despite have a "read receipt" they will flatly deny receiving them, and why should you have to worry about printing out emails when a letter is perfectly sufficient? To stop the incessant telephone calls, send them this letter...

They have 30 days to action this, then it is deemed harrassment if they carry on ringing you. Send it recorded delivery so they can't deny receiving it. Keep sending them the regular payments, don't wait for a payment book, they will not send you one so that your payments will be "late" then they will threaten you with court action and so on. (Which they hardly ever follow through)

On a positive note, if you can manage to save some money, Moorcroft may well be able to accept a low Full and Final offer for the debt at some point in the future. Also, if you are still paying interest on your debt, it may be worth asking them to freeze the interest. Debt colllection agencies purchase these debts for a fraction of their worth so they are often happy to make a few quid from the debt even if it is not a full settlement figure. Don't despair, lots of people on here have had dealings with Moorcroft, they don't scare us! Good luck :)
