I'd go for 0! Give your head a wobble :naughty:

You still have proof of everything, sent and received. You can even get delivery and read receipts to prove they've opened your email.

How is that any different to recorded mail? Other than email is free.

OP if you want to use post then just tell them point blank you refuse to use telephone or email.

You obviously dont have any elderly relatives or such like , there are , believe it or not , people who DONT use computers

Also it should be noted that any payment to these shysters should be by standing order and not direct debit...also never give these people your card details or you'll find yourself in trouble.

Send everything recorded delivery, nothing else is good enough.

    Good luck

When you originally took out the loan with Tesco, you would have agreed to pay so much per month for so many months to repay it. Some time down the line you were unable to pay the contracted amount and came to an agreement to pay a lesser amount. However the contractual amount, each month, was still the original figure. In effect, each month, your account would go a little further behind and there will come a point where it is financially better for Tesco to sell your account to someone else to deal with, in this case Moorcroft. There is no reason why you and Moorcroft should not write to each other, as many people do not have access to the internet. You will be able to get an address for them from Google, I would think. I am sure that either Tesco or Moorcroft are suposed to write to you to say the account has been transferred to them. If this didn't happen you could write to Moorcroft asking for proof they are entitled to collect this money. Sorry as a complete technophobe I can't post links, but the "Prove it" letter is available on this forum.

Tesco have told me that they have transferred the account to Moorcroft so I guess there is no need for the 'prove it' letter. I take your point but I was wondering why neither Moorcroft or Tesco seem to be able to come up with a reason the account has been transferred, like I said, Moorcroft, very rudely, implied I was a poor payer when, in fact, I have never missed one of the agrreed payments.
I have written to Moorcroft now and will post it recorded delivery, despite what their rude operative told me I am pretty sure they cannot refuse to deal with me by post, I will send it recorded delivery of course.

To digress a little, does anyone have any experience of Moorcroft, mine so far has not been good and I would like to know what sort of people I am dealing with.

Yes, I've noted on their website they only accept payment by Direct Debit or Payment Book. I've asked for a payment book as I refuse to let them control the payments by a direct debit and I don't want to give them any card details. Thanks for pointing this out.

I only know what I've read on here but I think you can expect a bunch of nasty, ill mannered, rude, bullying t*ssers who will do their level best to make your life a living hell :( Some of these companies are so awful I would think they sometimes border on illegal.

Don't let them bully you, if they are being rude or abusive hang up.

Thanks, I think I won't be ringing them again. If I keep all contact to written then I have proof of any problems.

You would have thought Tesco would have preferred £17 a month from me rather than sell my account to these idiots for, no doubt, a pittance.

Just wondering, can these people ask for copies of your bank statements etc? I've noticed in their website they ask for 'proof' of expenditure so just a little worried about the invasion of privacy.

They can ask but they have no more legal powers to see them than next doors cat.

If you choose to deal with them by post, then that is up to you.

You are not obliged to provide bank statements or other private documents. They can ask, and it is up to you whether you send them, but you don't have to.

This all seems such a mess, I had no problems paying Tesco monthly by standing order and now I seem stuck with these dodgy people. I have written to them with my offer to pay them the same by payment book but something tells me that its not going to be this easy and I'm going to have no end of grief now.
