A new property has come on the market in an area I am interested in. A 3 bed mews for £127,950
I thought it seemed cheap for the area and size, so I did search to see when it last sold and it was for £135,000 in June 2010.
Without being mega nosey and asking the estate agents (and i'm sure they wouldn't tell me the real reason anyway incase it would put me off) what do you lot think the reason for it being back on the market much cheaper be?
My partner has said he thinks it must be haunted:rotfl:
I think DIVORCE!
Or it could be bad neighbours...
Really it could be anything... my question is, would it put you off?

It could be for sale for so many reasons that it wouldn't bother me. I'd have a nose around the area to see what the neighbourhood is like. Then I'd view the property, and if it's Ok, I'd snap up the bargain.0

Go and see it. Knock on and meet the neighbours.
If you don't get told by who shows you round, then the neighbours will know

Oh, just had a thought, might be worth having a survey before committing to anything. It could have a structural problem.0

Yeah, get a proper survey done if you decide to go for it. Any other problems you'd think they'd stick it out a bit longer than 2/3 months. If walls are falling down they might want to cut their losses as quick as they can.
Or they might be Beenie Worshippers (developers) who got their figures wrong and are having to lose out on this one. The time frame would fit that scenario too. But be warey off dodgy (cheap) diy jobs.0 -
Death, Divorce, or Debt?
Get a full survey done if you are considering it.0 -
Just view if you're interested and ask why they're selling
Pretty standard question. If they've had disputes with neighbours, they'll legally have to declare them. Could be anything. If you don't view, just ask the EAs. That's what I'd do. Tell them you know it was last sold in June 2010. Where did you see it was sold, btw? All the sites I've looked at for historic prices are far more out of date than that! Would be very handy, thanks!
