  • I was allowed pet insurance and an allowance for my cat and dog... the insolvency service also said I could have irt when I emailed them.

    Rats....

    What is an IRT??????

Doushka posted just two weeks ago when her OR refused to allow anything for her cats - food/insurance/litter. All down to the individual OR! I would advise to err on the side of caution and to put the cat stuff in with the housekeeping, since really that is what it is.

I cannot remember how many cats she has but they were insured, which was quite a lot. Of course the OR's disallow insurance payments for pets. If only they realised how expensive vet treatments are if one of them takes ill!

Having thought about it I think Doushka's problem was that long with her State Benefits that were not included in the IPA calculation, she had a private scheme she had been paying into - which paid her a monthly income.

Knowing that she had all her State Benefits aswell, the OR probably felt safe in disallowing the cats to be included since he knew that her income in total was sufficient anyway.

We have had some cases where I volunteer whom have had cats/dogs/snake(?) costs disallowed by the OR .
  • If memory serves me right, Doushka's OR was a woman - which explains a lot!

why does that explain a lot?

Does anyone have any advice regarding how long it might take for the OR to arrange release of Ben's wages?

Would it be a case of red tape and correspondance flying around, or just a quick note to the bank from a friendly OR?

Like I was saying before I got a letter. I did ask her and she said that the bank can call her at any time and she will agree for it to be released.
