Ok this is my redraft:
The thing that causes me (us)not to have enough money to pay our creditors is in part to my overspending, oversocialising and overdependance on alcohol, this means our household budget is spent, then food petrol, household items etc were put on credit which then lead to paying credit with cards / overdrafts in a vicious circle. Any emergencies also put on credit cards.
Our joint income was reduced last year when my partner gave up working for herself as it was not being profitable and recently I have been off work with a bad back and extra expenditure for emergency Oestopath sessions have caused further problems and brought to a head the situation I am in where I now realise I have had my head in the sand for too long while our finances have spiralled out of control.
thanks

I think I would put something like:
Our joint income was reduced last year when my partner gave up working for herself as it was not being profitable and recently I have been off work with a bad back and extra expenditure for emergency Oestopath sessions have caused further problems and brought to a head.
I would also admit that part of the problem has also been due to my overspending and oversocialising.
I have had my head in the sand for too long while our finances have spiralled out of control. I now realise this and making every effort to improve our financial situation.
As far as prison - no, being in debt is not a crime, so don't worry about that. Implications can mean that a longer term of bankruptcy which means restrictions applied when bankruptcy will last longer than normal.Debt is not the be all and end all. There is always a solution!0 -

Hi Sarah,
It would take them alot longer than a couple of weeks to commence action against you thats for sure. Personally I would save the stress and money on phone calls, they will find out soon enough!
The problem is, if you do ring them, they have heard it so many times before, people saying they are going BR, when in fact alot of them dont actually end up doing it. That is why alot of Creditors simply take no notice of any phone calls of that nature, and continue writing and ringing.10 1p's are better than no 10p's !!!

Your choice Sarah - you are receiving system letters from the creditors. You could just ring and tell them, or wait for the OR to contact them when you are bankrupt.
If they call you, just explain whats happening.Debt is not the be all and end all. There is always a solution!0 -
I was wondering, my OH and I keep our finances seperate these days. All the bills go out of his account and I pay a fixed weekly amount into that account for my half. Do I still need to list all household expenses seperately? Do I list half of everything or all of it and state his 50-50 contribution? I haven't even begun to fill out the forms yet. I got a paper copy from the court, but there is only 1 form. I've seen people on here mention taking three copies, so why have the court only given me one?

Im nearly 3 months since bankruptcy and they still dont believe you when you call them up !! Ive come to the conclusion to just leave them to their devices, they will hear from the OR soon enough.
I was lucky I was able to just ignore the letters and changed my tel number.
29th will be here soon enough for you.....0
