Good to hear about your new kitchen.... See Black is the new white !... I just need some UPVC edge for the back door... that can wait till Jan payday though...

Im looking forward to Christmas... Working Xmas eve, day and Boxing, but have a lot of time off afterwards.. And found out last night that i wont be out on the road them days.. Im in the office for them.. So that will be nice, not knocking on doors at all hours Xmas night !

Our B diary is going quite well.. Its amazing how little we have heard, its made such a difference in our lives. Our IPA starts 1/1/07.. Nice start to the new year eh !! BUT we were paying over £350 DMP so its not that bad really.

Now im on the talk.. I think ill update the diary...

The OR will contact all relevant parties to verify dates etc. It just makes things easier if you know - so don't worry too much. :grouphug:

I watched bits of Apollo 13, too.

Thanks, I've decided not to worry about it, I really don't need anything else to get stressed about.
Heard from OR today, I've got to send all statements, agreements, cheque books, cards, wage slips to him. So I've spent the afternoon finding it all for me and OH.
Also some forms to sign. Our phone interviews are on Friday but it didn't say that these things have to be there by then. I will post it all tomorrow so it may get there in time.
I just want it to be all over now. Christmas has been put on hold so far, I think it will be quite small this year but still want to make it special for DD.
Thanks for all the support on here, it has really helped.

Oh dear, my OR phone interview is Friday but I have nothing from the credit reference thingy. Do I need it and how do I get it and will it be too late now?

I suggest you give any approximations you can. Our OR has got all the info from the card and loan companies. We have had no contact regarding any of this info since our `phone call on 2/11:j
  • Hi I am new!!

Just been reading through this thread. And I have just come out the other side of Bankruptcy and wondered now that I have been discharged do I wait a further 6 years before my credit rating is fine again or do I add the 3 years I was bankrupt and a further 3 years after discharge??

Also once discharged do I need to pay the £60 to get off the damaging file?

And another question now that I am discharged can I now get a cheque book or debit card from my bank?

The same day I went bankrupt I opened a cash card current account with Nationwide and they were really good about it. They even offered me an overdraft.

Hi lovemoney - welcome to bcsc and pleased to see that you have come through the process okay - shame that you had to endure the 3 years - but it's over now and things are going to improve.
The £60 is the fee for a discharge certificate - this does not affect your credit file, but MAY be necessary in certain circumstances - eg mortgage application and certain jobs. Personally I wouldn't get one unless I was specifically asked for it.
You can apply for an account with a cheque book - the bank may decline until you have been discharged for a year, but you are legally entitled to apply - and there are several banks out there if you get knocked back by one.
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

  • Not bankrupt and hoping not to be but offering full support to anyone going through it. Stay strong and stick together.

Can you use debt negotiation in UK? In USA you can. You pay your debts at around 50%, keep everything you have and yet be able to get credit (if you still ant more debts). There are several companies in Uk that should do this. I tried commercialcreditsolutions . com in USA and helped me.
