Thanks for the kind words, but it was not so straightforward as I hoped. He's not keen to just say he'll do a section, as apparently the hip thing isn't necessarily a contraindication for natural delivery. So I have to go to the delivery suite tomorrow am to see the anaesthetist (and I think consultant again too) who will look at whether natural birth is realistic I think (i don't really know, it wasn't made that clear), and pain relief options. I had just assumed they would book me in for section there and then. They are apparently very slow to do them as they want to get their rates down, according to the midwife who I cried all over afterwards. I am just not sure how I am supposed to deliver naturally when I can't stand, walk, open my legs properly etc, even laying on my back is painful! I don't want pethedine and epidurals are not advised because if i can't feel pelvis i could be doing damage, so there isn't much option as far as I understand it! Still, I guess all will become clearer in the morning!!
Maybe its time to chuck a piggers-style strop, a massive one?
If you do go for a vaginal birth, I'm sure your body will cope - have faith in it. That's not really the point, though, is it? I would stick out for what you feel you need.
wm on again, daft people decluttered. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Good evening  My invented pancake, spinach and butternut bake, with Stilton breadcrumb topping went down very well
We're all stuffed and there are 3 portions in the freezer for Lunch Roulette for work
Children are doing homework, then they;re going to watch last night's Inbetweeners, and I'm having an early night with hot chocolate and my book. A friend at work has lent me the new Audrey Niffernegger, so I need to finish my current book quickly
Rach - I hesitate to offer my opinion (I kept :silenced: over last week's discussion on BF) but I'm sure the conultants will act in your best interests. A c-section is a major op, and they will be reluctant to offer it unless absolutely necessary, as it will take you a goodly while to get over it. Make sure you get as much information as you need, and I hope you get the best outcome for you and the baby :A
Hex - ironing is my "least un-favourite" of all the housework jobs
Will look at a list or two

I didn't get any further than my last posting of the list, so no update tonight. Our consultant appointment was this afternoon though and we hae a date of 19th October for delivery, which gives us exactly 4 weeks to get everything ready! They were ever so good though and told me that if i was having any doubts or fears the week before that i could just go in and they would do it as an emergency. I would rather wait until the 39th week though, so hopefully i won't end up doing that.

Welcome pinkpig08!!
Rach, i'm so sorry they weren't as helpful as you had hoped.
Sometimes you have to be pushy to get what you want. Obviously it's good to take advice from the experts, but you know your own mind and body better than anyone. (((hugs))) Sarah.
