He's not keen to just say he'll do a section, as apparently the hip thing isn't necessarily a contraindication for natural delivery. So I have to go to the delivery suite tomorrow am to see the anaesthetist (and I think consultant again too) who will look at whether natural birth is realistic I think (i don't really know, it wasn't made that clear), and pain relief options. I had just assumed they would book me in for section there and then. They are apparently very slow to do them as they want to get their rates down, according to the midwife who I cried all over afterwards. I am just not sure how I am supposed to deliver naturally when I can't stand, walk, open my legs properly etc, even laying on my back is painful! I don't want pethedine and epidurals are not advised because if i can't feel pelvis i could be doing damage, so there isn't much option as far as I understand it! Still, I guess all will become clearer in the morning!!
ohhh i want to cry for you. it sounds like the consultant has just dismissed your fears without considering your feelings whatsoever. try and forge about everything tonight, and tomorrow when you go back, have a list of all the points and go through them one by one and get both the consultant and the anaesthetist to advise against each point why a natural birth is better than a section for yourself. can hubby or someone not go with you as well and speak up if you feel yourself getting angry with them if they continue to dismiss you.
Or to put it another way - b^$$*" their rates
We know how much you have been suffering over the last weeks. If you feel that a c-section is right for you then what happened to patient choice?

Thanks everyone, maybe I am just making a fuss and I don't need a section and everything will be fine. No one teaches you this stuff.

I just took my emotion out dysoning the hallway, probably not the best idea but hey. Managed to dyson the bathroom from a sitting position lol. We have a flat inspection tomorrow and DH was going to hoover tonight but thought I could do a bit in the meantime.

A quick question, pork fillets. When I used to buy them they had cooking instructions for oven cooking but the ones I have for tonight just say about frying in medallions. Can anyone remind me what to do if I want to cook them in the oven?

    I need kicking!!!! (and sleep!!!!)
*Is unsure whether to put a Goblinkicker behind Piggers or sing her a lullaby*:D

Actually.... the lullaby's a bad idea. I can't even speak today, let alone sing.:(

Not posting today's progress yet, as there hasn't been much, with Mr LW working from home, although I've been on the go all day.

Took an age to get my poor aching limbs going this morning, but I did make Shepherd Spy (for today AND tomorrow's dins), plus all the subsequent clearing/washing up, caught up with a zillion emails, including quite a few online surveys, did HHWii, and we've been into town to pay in a cheque, get cold remedies and finally do a Morrisons shop.

Mr LW has his pal A coming round tonight to drink cider and play PS2 games, and he's yet to do his HHWii. I also want him to join me in a HHC to get some of today's list shifted.

Ideally I'd like to put some eucalyptus in a bowl of hot water and see if I can declutter my 'orrible sinuses, but I fear there won't be enough time for that.:(

Rach sorry, no words of wisdom, but a gentle (((HUG))) and right-outcome-for-you-and-baby vibes.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Rach Oh sweetie, you've had a rotten time. I can't add to what others have said but am sending you strong supporting vibes for tomorrow's appt with the anaesthestist & consultant.

We have a new DSi in the house! Beaming smiles from DS3 and DD2 (she feels her brother's joy as well). DH got £60 for the TV at work so DS1 has to pay £70 more.

I've swept the kitchen, dining room, and hall floors as some plank has not put the hard floor tool for the dyson back in it's cupboard. Kitchen is s/s but I've not had the inclination to do much else after this morning's drama..... in other words SOFAADFA.
